love this, this is the kinda posts we need here. I’ve researched diinsa or maybe it was malmal extensively at one point but it seemed to be a geed thats unique to Somalia alone. I’ll post whatever I find later. Hope more people can contribute here.

edit: FYI fooh aka luban - is not myrrh, it’s frankincense.

most of these are trees native to somalia.
these items are mostly exported to the middle east, and from there, the arabs sell it for profit and claim it's native to their land when it isn't it.

do post you research when you get time.

Interesting topic! Those are mainly native to somalia but there might be similar one found abroad.

My mother in the late 80s lived in Mogadishu. When my father from the north went to Mogadishu to study he smelled myrrah from my mother rooms so he went in and :damn:

Malmal/molmol- is myrrh

A mere finger can’t obscure the sun.
I would advise you against the usage of Fenugreek (Xulbad). It has a nasty odor and people will notice it from your sweat. Your romantic relationships might take a hit due to that nasty smell.

I don’t have romantic relationships:confused:

I use it as a fibre boost but a small quantity. I’m aware tho, thank you for the advise.
