Just a general thread to post and ask questions about beards, facial hair growth, care and more.

With that aside I got a question is it okay to maintain light stubble in islam?

I am trying to rock that look cause I have stubble growing and then progress to a style like this the image below of the somali guy is the beard style I want to end up with, thoughts?

Grow a proper full beard that is the sunnah. its the make up for men .
Mustaches don't look good , trim it down but not cut all of it.

Its called the philly beard it looks very good on you if you got good face shape.

I think diamond face shape suits you best for this style.

Yeah he has good beard genetics the weird thing I see from somalis is that they tend to just suddenly grow their beard out during their early or late 20s compared to other ethnics.

Yeah we're definitely not too hairy, but I've noticed there's a range when it comes to Somalis. Some can never grow a beard; some have a thick beard in their late teens. Bit of a reach but I feel like Somalis have more facial hair than other sub-saharan Africans.

Might make a thread on this asking folks on here when they first saw signs of facial hair

Yeah we're definitely not too hairy, but I've noticed there's a range when it comes to Somalis. Some can never grow a beard; some have a thick beard in their late teens. Bit of a reach but I feel like Somalis have more facial hair than other sub-saharan Africans.

We do on average, and our beard are fuller whereas theirs can at times be sparse. I had my first sign at 17 and by 21/22 was able to grow a full beard. 23 now and can grow a long one if i want to.

Guilty I originally did it to piss my mother off since she used to force me to cut my beard in my late teens.

Spectacular beard there sxb. I'm trying to get into corporate roles and I wonder if I'll be able to have one for the foreseeable future

It depends on the country, nicely trimmed one looks just as good too especially if it is filled out, especially if you have a good jawline, it's an addition, I grew it out during covid if I brushed it out it was past my armpits, had to chop it off once I had to head to meetings and clients.

Most users on this thread agree and the same outcome happened with my older male cousins.

I got stubble and trying to grow beard I dont know much, drop the beard products you use. You seem to have a healthy beard.

I like Murdock London Natural Beard Oil for Men, I brush out my beard daily and use some beeswax and beard balm, I don't use shampoo but conditioner twice weekly on it.
