Did your region start this banana nonsense? My people don’t eat Banana like that. Only eat it as a regular fruit not with actual mealsNever is diabolical I can't lie
I'm not really sure where it started, thought it was a country-wide thingDid your region start this banana nonsense? My people don’t eat Banana like that. Only eat it as a regular fruit not with actual meals
It might only be a Somalian thing. Even SL restaurants I’ve been to in SL & in the diaspora never served Banana with rice.I'm not really sure where it started, thought it was a country-wide thing

No ur not. I wanted to point this out earlier. Almost every Somali person you see on the internet whole personality is about being Somali lol. No creativity or individuality, just corny jokes about their nationality.
Side note: If any of y’all know a recent Somali content creator who doesn’t make his content about being Somali please let me know I need to check that person out![]()
I believe a traveller to Somalia in the 14th century mentioned a Banana based condiment. Something like that. Leefleefow looks like it would taste nice but the colour puts me off a little. I'd add some food colouring.Maybe something like leefleefow?
That is why they're successful. Most of those Beta Squad Somalis and those in that universe barely mention their ethnicity or their homeland (except May 18 for Chunkz & Sharky)
I even have it with baasto ngl it don’t hit wit bariis for meNever is diabolical I can't lie
Gulf Somalis are something truly different, they are arguably the most successful diaspora. They very rarely have any inferiority complex or anything. Somalis of the old, were truly something we should look up to as men honorable strong and respectable. Very proud of being somali to the point of considering non somalis as "inferior", where is that pride we have? That is why they're successful.
Look at that Abo Flah guy. Never mentions he is Somali and became the biggest streamer of the Arab world.
Somalis mess up the bag and their influence when they go for the low-hanging fruit of stereotypes. The "I'm the Somali guy, so I have to be like this" trope is nonsensical. We don't need to be anyone else, but we don't need to appeal to this artificial identity crafting that lacks self-respect. Like that one American streamer who acts like a clown for attention. Now, the average Somali is not like this, it's the attention-seeking types do act like this sometimes.
Remember the Somali who went to a self-help guy, and he had a horrible build. The guy just said, "I'm a Somali" as if the average Somali got that horrible body by default, implying that being Somali, he could do nothing about just looking horrible.
I think people already know, besides I feel like mentioning your ethnicity every 5 seconds makes you have no actual personality whatsoever. You just be who you are as a person, your ethnicity is simply one part of who you are but it isn't your defining feature. At the end of it all, you are an individual. Most of those Beta Squad Somalis and those in that universe barely mention their ethnicity or their homeland (except May 18 for Chunkz & Sharky)
