Gratitude and patience.

The Power of Gratitude and Patience (Shukr and Sabr)

Hey everyone, just a quick reminder for us all:

One of the biggest lessons we learn during Ramadan is the importance of gratitude (Shukr) and patience (Sabr). These are qualities that we need to carry with us, not just during the blessed month, but throughout the year.

Gratitude (Shukr):

  • Allah says in the Qur'an:
"If you are grateful, I will surely increase your favor upon you..." (Surah Ibrahim 14:7)
Being grateful for what we have—even the small things—is a key to increasing Allah’s blessings in our lives. We can show gratitude by thanking Allah daily, appreciating the little things, and using His blessings in good ways.

Patience (Sabr):

  • The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever shows patience, Allah will give him patience, and no one is granted a gift better and more abundant than patience." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Patience isn't just about waiting; it's about maintaining your trust in Allah’s plan. Whether in times of hardship or waiting for a good outcome, having patience aligns us with Allah’s will.

As we move past Ramadan, let’s keep gratitude and patience alive in our daily lives. When things get tough or we feel like complaining, remember that patience is a virtue, and gratitude turns what we have into enough.

Let's remind each other to be thankful for the blessings we have and patient with the challenges we face, knowing that both are ways to draw closer to Allah.
