Youāre assuming a lot of things in this murky situation. It could be mom took them there and developed some kind of mental health issue or already had mental health/drug issue when she got there.
I have never heard of Somalis taking the passport of a grown woman from the West and locking her up for marrying a Madow. Somalis see people from the West as cash cows, therefore it would be highly unlikely an adult from the West got locked up and forced to marry another man.
The fact that he keeps referencing Jiin most likely means she developed a mental health issue and got put in cillaj or some family members house. This kid looks healthy, clean, and in good weight for someone who has been living in Somalia. He probably has some drug issue and alluded to that in one of the clips. I donāt think it is fair to judge the family of assume there was ill intention from the beginning without knowing the facts.

How can anyone believe he is half hatian that grew up in Canada? Haitians have strong features and I know personally some half hatian Somalis and you can always tell. Plus he donāt sound like he ever stepped foot in an English speaking country ever. The name he gave sounds like when an Indian scammer calls you with a thick Hindi accent and says āmy name is Robert Johnsonā.

Yeah I never heard the kind of name he is using sounds very weird like he just googled some weird foreign sounding names.
You have to realize not all of our families are the same. Some of our families do not part take in this. Iāve never heard of stories like this at all in my life growing up or even when I went back home. None of the women or the men that āacted upā in their youth that I know got taken back home without a passport or even chained up cuz thatās crazy. We all arenāt a monolith. But Iām not denying that it can occur cuz abusers do whatever they want to do.
The difference is that I do not hold my assumptions to be fact nor do I dislike or mock other posts for their hypothetical takes. Everything I said in my post was hypothetical. Somalispot has recently become full of cliques and bum licking. I encourage independent thought. Some people want to pass off their mostly ideologically driven takes as facts and when you challenge them they get annoyed.
Back to the passport thing, I was responding to someone who said the ladies passport was potentially taken for having a madow child. Doesnāt make sense as many Somalis have madow or mixed kids and take them back home without a problem. I also inferred the mum might have been sent to cilaaj due to mental health and the kids were looked after by relatives. This makes more logical sense than someone being detained or having their passport taken for simply having a half Somali kid.
Ps. I donāt believe in the notion of āvictims should always be believedā. I think there are grey areas where people may exaggerate things or lie as a means to achieve to N objective. Those claims have to be investigated by the relevant authorities not by the loser Dahir.
What I meant by grown women was someone with children having their passport taken and their children taken by relatives. The individual who quoted me wants to pretend that such a practice is the norm in Somalia.
I have heard of single girls in their teens/20s but never once heard a woman having her children taken and passport taken (allegedly for having mixed kids).
If they done this it could most likely due to mother having severe mental health or drug issue. I doubt Somalis would want to burden themselves the cost of looking after children from the west if the mum was able to do that herself.
Again, I might be wrong, but each to his own I guess.
