HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

How much more south can you go if you live on the Isle of Wight? You’re already on the southernmost tip of England. Nobody is falling for your lies.

Basic you asked basically "why am I here?" and maybe you wondered why I mentioned I'd already responded.... here is the response.... insha'Allah you can see why I wouldn't want to tell the whole thing again

I was on a Muslim forum (not Ummah.com) and it was way too watered down- it was super liberal. Tbh I would have just joined Ummah.com but I couldn't register for some resason.

Tbh I don't know that much about Somalis and I only know of once when I met a Somali in real life but I have a very good view of Somalis and I think a lot of the people here are relateable.

Anyways, though, I really came here to support the Muslim faction in the Muslim versus anti-Muslim stuff on here. I saw people being attacked for being Muslim and I don't like that.

Also, it kind of hurts my feelings that I think you're against me. I see you as my fellow Muslim and I see you as intelligent. We might disagree on some things but I don't understand why we can't discuss our differing views in a respectful manner and hear what the other has to say. I don't have any ill-will against you. I don't understand why there should be hostility just because we have different ideas. It really does hurt my feelings. Anyone who knows me in real life I think would say I am a friendly, gentle person. I almost never have raised my voice at anyone. You can disagree with me and you can even insult me but I am not against you personally at all.

Obvious how ? I just thought you were a calm faraax. Is @Lum somali ? He’s very calm too and doesn’t participate in qabil wars.

I think he's Somali.

How was it obvious?

For one, I named myself "Omar del Sur". I'm surprised anyone would be surprised.

But people I tagged and people reading- check out this thread I posted in October

https://www.somalispot.com/threads/death.68374/#post-1811197

what do I say right there in the OP?

"before I was 19, I knew basically nothing about Islam....... I was ummm..... I was raised very differently..... than the people from Muslim families.....

I was about.... I think I was 17 years old..... I do not like to discuss this.... I am a little scared to discuss this.....................................

but people question the existence of lo oculto........... how to say it...... the..... lo oculto..... ghaib is translated as lo oculto in my Quran translation.....

anyways..... I was in the driveway..... it was I think about 7 pm..... I was playing basketball in the driveway by myself, just shooting the ball into the hoop......

I turned and I saw la santa muerte.... or what appeared as la santa muerte..... at this time I did not know the word "jinn" and I knew almost nothing about the Quran......

I now think this was actually a jinn thatappeared as la santa muerte.........

whatever it was....: I do not like talking about this........ in fact I don't at all want to talk about this at all but..... it is a true story and people don't know about some things......

I turned and I saw..... whatever it was..... it was a skeleton..... wearing the robe.... it held the sycthe...... appeared as la santa muerte....... I was..... not happy that I saw the thing......

that is as much as I want to mention........"

I made it super blatantly obvious and a lot of people reacted to that thread. I posted that in October. I'm surprised people are just now realizing I'm not Somali.

I told people in October that my Quran translation translated ghayb as "lo oculto" and I discussed Santa Muerte. I made it super, blatantly obvious.

I've explained a lot and I've quoted from other posts of mine.

I'm on another forum as well. I'm on a forum based in Latin America. I'm not insulting sspot but I think the other forum is 20, maybe 50-100 times bigger.

This forum is very small compared to that one. That forum is huge. It is gigantic. And I am the only Muslim on there. Am I a bad guy because I sometimes don't want to be the only Muslim and because I get tired of being told I'm worshipping a moon God and that Islam is a terrorist religion and I've been brainwashed by the "progresistas"?

If a person reads through the material here, I have made things clear.

Is there growing Mexican Muslim population? How is it being a Muslim in such a Catholic centered culture?

I appreciate your questions. In regard to the first... I believe there is a growing population of Mexicans who are interested in Islam and scared to tell their families.

I was at work and my manager found out I'm Muslim.... my Mexican co-worker found out from him.... and he took me to the side and I found he was... well.... some kind of crypto-Muslim apparently.... I was shocked....

he was into Islam and even went to the mosque..... but apparently still practiced pagan rituals from our ancestors.... apparently he still would give offerings to the dead....

I think this kind of weird thing would/will be more common if or when more Mexicans get into Islam...... you might think "ah yes, Quran is wonderful..... Islam is wonderful.... but why not give offerings to our dead ancestors and pray to all sorts of statues, virgins, etc..."

it fan be very tempting for us to think that way.... it took a long time for me to wrap my head around the concept of Tawheed.....

and I think part of it is when the Spanish came.... they brought Catholicism but it became blended with the local paganism and the Church accepted that..... so it can be tempting to think we can do the same with Islam....

but anyways, the quest to get my people to not worship statues and such.... there is that... but as for the co worker... he had been going to the mosque but yet he was still hiding his religious beliefs from his mom.......

amongst Mexicans in the US, I think there is a growing interest......

I think a lot of why Westerners are sometimes anti-Islam is eurocentrism...... whereas Mexicans.... we're kind of almost innately hostile to Europeans tbh....... even if we're not overt about it.......

but with Latin Americans outside the US..... there is so little information available in Spanish........ a lot of the people know very little about Islam....... I am hopeful that it will change over time as more information is put out in Spanish.....

that is in response to the first question....

to respond to the second question.....

I would like to quote from a conversation I had with someone
