SL is highly urbanized similar to their neighbor Djibouti, who sadly has dire TFR before they’ve even became productive, hopefully they don’t have that same trajectory

It’s all in staying rural, rural people especially pastorals are self sufficient in their sustaining resources, Puntland should have a land granting initiative to stop our rapid urbanization, and give urban youth surveyed grazing land and some livestock near cities as incentives , continue the Siad Barre sedentarization but instead give pastoralists acres according to their herd size so we can tax and control the environment , and support them when droughts happen


Also the method to curb the impending population change in South Somalia would be to urbanize all the non Somali groups and give the Somalis rural land so they can be self sufficient and fruitful

Plots of land in places like Maanaboolyo, Xamarweyne, Taleex, Zoobe, Banaadir, Liido etc go upwards of half a mil. Xamar real estate is easily worth double the Hargeisa economy
