has social media had the opposite effect on your political views.

Elon bucks promoting hate from homosexual Mexicans and downwardly mobile whites implying minorities are incapable of success has turned me into more of a liberal than before. I feel women are trending that way as well with rampant misogeny from random men on the internet. while people correctly talk about the internet having a "real feel" to it by allowing people to post anonymously, it ignores the fact that a good chunk of the population actually believes this.

Elon Musk himself was never hardline right wing or conservative either or that much politically outspoken, before the pandemic he described himself as a socialist , socially liberal, moderate and fiscally conservative etc

He either got radicalized by his kid becoming trans or it was from scrolling through twitter.
Other reasons could be he was consistently criticized by the left for his business ethics and wealth, hit with multiple lawsuits and violations by FCC which made him ally with the right.

Right now he has like 23 active lawsuits against him, he is trying to dodge them all with the help of Trump.

But to answer your question my political views have stayed somewhat the same , but my economic views have changed not because of social media but just through reading and studying markets, world economies and through my own personal experience.

I am not swayed by hate. Hate to me is ultimately self-destructive in the end. It's not a rational thing to judge your own policy direction from.

That's what his biographer said that it radicalized him a lot .

It might just be that, he as been on twitter for several decades and was even anti-trump so i don't think twitter radicalized him.

My politics didn't change but I've become substantially more pessimistic about the future.
Likewise, economics wise people are predicting another depression. Geopolitics wise, ww3 feels more closer than ever. I have anxiety worrying about a future that really isn’t guaranteed at all. Is this how people felt during the Cold War,

Yeah i am pro-democracy if the country is developed, if the country is not developed they would benefit from a single party approach with continuity and long term planning with gradual reforms towards democratization. And it should not be like America with only two party government with bigger polarization like the right vs left. It should be room for more for other parties, also independents and room for coalition building.

My economic views is mixed capitalist and socialist(capitalism for trade , business and economic growth) and (socialism for re-distribution of wealth and social programs), i support labor unions and better working conditions, . Also social programs like free health care and universal education.

Likewise, for a new nation starting up I believe a strongman or dictator can be beneficial at first. Like lee kuang yew or siad barre if he was successful in the Ogaden war. Later I also believe in the transition to democracy and more liberal however Islamic leaning values. I’m extremely anti laissez-faire capitalism and pro social democracy, Labour democrats etc. we agree on a lot I wouldn’t mind an aggressive neo colonial foreign policy if we were rich similar to the UAE but not directed by mossad and not target at other Muslim nations. An example would be supporting Paul kagames regime in rwanda. Also on domestic policy, I’d be pro refugee/ open immigration policy. But only to allied nations or nations that accepted us during our civil war. Syria for example. I’d also support green energy and moving away from oil dependence despite being an oil producer like Norway. Id be pro military interventionist, cuz we in Africa we should run shi similar to turkeys involvement in other nations and to a lesser extent involvement in the Middle East. So definitely intervention in Sudan and Yemen. Pro social welfare for all Somalis and immigrants as well as passport privileges similar to western nations, full integration and a reduction of hostile right wing media sentiment towards migrants.( I’ll add I’m pro immigration only to an extent, the nation must be a minimum 90% Somali , and 10% foreigners max). E.g if we had a population of 30 mil we could support an immigrant population of 3 million for low skilled labour. Ideally refugees and allied nations we have had great historical relations with like Egypt accepting our Cushitic brothers the beja in Sudan to save them from the genocidal maniac there. Syria cuz a lot of Somalis were there during the civil war. Palestinians, Indonesians Malaysians etc. very generous social welfare programs. Debt can’t exceed 40% of gdp or very strict austerity measures in place. 4% of gdp on the military, free education until 18 and university only if military service is completed for men or national service for women about 6 months to 1 year. Lots of social housing to prevent market capitalisation from foreign investors and to reduce house prices. In terms of what the country would look like Japanese railway, British buses, Dutch streets/ biking, Somali architecture . European food standards, American college and high school sports industry, Finnish education( no homework) 4 day work week, generous annual leave laws and paternal leave. Oh I forgot to add a complete ban on Ethiopian migrants especially Oromo. @Khaem what you think
