It’s because white people can’t tell the difference between Eastern Europeans, black peoples, South Asians etc. easier to tell when someone is Somali.

Most of the time they aren’t even Somali, any East African person will be assumed to be Somali, whether that’s a Rwandan/Eritrean/Sudanese as we’ve seen over the past year.
