Working a manual job and having such a heavy carb loaded lunch isn’t the one. I would take the small white guys lunch every day of the week on site. This reminded me of a time I went to a community event back then during my time in melb, And when it was time to eat they were serving bariis and when I took my first spoonful it was so disgusting and qashin that I almost spat that shit out
So then I decided to pass by and peek into the kitchen on the way to the toilet to see whats going on and when I looked inside there was not a single ayeeyo or habryar in there it was just packed with young xalimos cooking the xaar they call bariis with their long acrylic nails and taking snaps on their phones 
thats when I understood somali cuisine is dying with our aunts these chicks cant cook a simple sabaayad for the life of them

The perfect work meal is a balance between the two. A nice homemade sandwich that doesn’t taste like plastic and is light enough to fuel you for the rest of the day is the way to go.
