You are too influenced by the atheistic western mindset.

Why degrade it into something commercial/capitalistic like a store or cafe?

It should be used for religious purposes, if not something actually beneficial to the local people if not a Masjid for prayer and community gatherings perhaps an orphanage?

What would Muslims and Somalis historically use buildings for the benefit of people? Not the capitalistic and atheistic west. What was its actual historical use? @Idilinaa

I do like your idea of Community gathering or an Orphanage. Im not imposed of not building those type of facilities, but all im stating is that its a small building. Im not talking about the Castle but the build right behind it. I think it was used a a prison also this why I wanted to change it to a coffee shop. The facilities you mentioned will need a bigger location

I think what he said is a good idea. Those are not old masjid buildings but forts/castles and old houses. They can even be turned into museums or you can create a secondary business next to it.

We can turn it into Masjid as well , so that works also . It will help keep old buildings alive and repurpose them while tying the area to historic sites. It will create added incentive renovate them instead of letting them crumble into none-existence after being abandoned

@EyiPunter another cool thing i've seen visiting some European countries, is that they place a post next to historic sites , districts or neighborhoods and they place a vintage picture on top with brief passages under it sharing it's history. Next to a side walk so people passing by can look at it and get a sense of history.

They can do that as well.

that a great idea we also have those historic markers. They tend to have a paraghaph about that location and what battle happened or when the city was created. I think these are simple to recreate in Somalia

Or in hindsight you could have multiple things going, theres over 40000 mosques in Somalia you could have it to serve locals or tourists and make money.

Yeah just like that but the ones i saw had a kinda modern feel to it with photo's included. Also include key individuals and their names.

I'll see if i can find a picture of it, or ill have to ask people to take one for me and send it.
It's an excellent idea nonetheless.
