as an agnostic where do you get your happiness from?
Actually I am depressed a lot of the time, but I don't think it has anything to do with belief in God, just going through some shit recently.
I don't speak for any other agnostic person, where do I get happiness from? Idk maybe family?

Whatever
ur not sure where you find happiness in?What happens when the family die out ? Just thinking about it makes me depressed for you
Religious belief like a belief in Islam or Christianity in and of itself is not a source of happiness. It's the sense of community and purpose and feeling you belong to something greater than yourself.
Islam is the source of happiness. If you place it on a community or a feeling then it's just temporarily happiness until that community ex-communicate you or that feeling goes away.
So you're saying that religion is likely a man-made phenomenon?
Interesting video. One thing that caught my eye is that a lot of animals do actually follow some form of rudimentary morality that seems ingrained. Namely the "golden rule" which is do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you.
Religious belief like a belief in Islam or Christianity in and of itself is not a source of happiness. It's the sense of community and purpose and feeling you belong to something greater than yourself. Recent Hunter-Gatherers who were more animist than anything else literally couldn't wrap their heads around the idea of depression when people in the modern world would try to explain it to them and that's because their lifestyle ticked boxes like the following:
They did not commonly believe in Gods like Allah, as in "High-Gods" who judge and interfere with Human affairs, these sorts of belief systems were rare among HGs because their societies were not usually hierarchical which made it hard for them to conceive the universe in turn was run by some form of a hierarchy. It is in the case of agricultural (farmer & pastoral) societies where social hierarchy is commonplace where you start seeing High-Gods become highly common and, incidentally, higher incidences of diseases like depression.
- Organic, species specific diet
- Regular sleep and exercise
- Strong social bonds (always around members of their band)
- Spiritualist beliefs and sense of purpose (Animist etc)
- Living out in nature
Anyway, I find all these arguments silly. Find Allah in your heart and deep within and have faith, brother. You shouldn't need all these worldly things like arguments over "objective morality" and how it apparently doesn't exist without God to convince yourself. This life is a test, bowe. Don't fail it.
