One thing i would like to stress to you is once you do decide to go there please stay away from hotels and restaurants. I mean go but don't frequent or be smart. Update us please.stay safe out there.
Thanks for the advice.
My aunt and her children from the UK once visited a hotel and it was attacked a day later. Hotels in Xamar are to be avoided as well as any place for government workers.

In'sha'Allah I will be OK but If I don't post for a year, then I have passed on:ileycry:

Sxb I recalling you saying you had a xaas in xamar so InshaAllah if you do go back then you're going to need more then $500 a month cuz I'm assuming there will be caruur involved.

Start some sort of business InshaAllah like a gym and have 100 people attend paying you $20 a month, $20x100=$2,000 you have labo kun oo dollar ah laakiin avoid degmooyinka dowlada u dhow cuz chances are qarax inad la kulantid

I'm sure you can find some cheap gym equipments cuz the people don't really care as long as it looks decent

Isn't there any job opportunities for educated diaspora people in Somalia?

I know in areas like engineering, teaching etc Somalis are dependant on foreign workers such as Kenyans.
Extremely low wages.

The only jobs in Somalia which offer a decent wage is doctor.

Teachers and Engineers don't earn lots of money unless you teach at couple big institutions or are an accredited engineer working in multiple.

And some other items and make sure the place is spacious cuz I've been to few gyms near my area and it wasn't good to say the least and InshaAllah when everything is done you'll be looking at $2,000 laakiin start with $15 a month instead of $20 sidad dadka u so jeedatid

:trumpsmirk:Somewhere down the lane a 2nd xaas might pop along

Masha'Allah. One thing I can say that is life in Somalia if you have stable income is actually blessing and more fulfilling than in the west. Also marriage back home is truly worth it, just make sure you have done all necessary background checks on the girl.

We will all pass Its the norm of life we should not be scared of that specially us muslims.Personally when i went there i wasnt scared of dying. I was more scared of ending up handicapped from an attack to me that is worse. Oh watch out for crowded gatherings they seem to be target. Dont let fear stop you, dont be naive either. I hope i didn't scare you HHH. Stay safe!

Don’t know if it’s popular over there but you could rent or buy a place in the city and set up a pool business with few arcade machines and drinks. That’s what Vietnamese and Koreans do when they come to the West because it’s a very profitable business and you don’t need experience. With around $50k set up;

10 pool tables + equipments = $15k - $20k
Arcade machines (car race, shooters etc) = $8k
Couches and side tables in each pool table = 3k
Coffee machine + fridge = $2k
Marketing = $500
Suppliers (drinks, coffee beans etc) = $300 monthly or get them in your own for cheaper price if it can fit in your car.

You can get your wife or employ someone to make canjeero every early mornings and put them on sale in the register for the maximum visibility of your business.
