How come Xalimos panic if they are not married by their mid 20s?

And this is what Somali elders don't get, life expectancy is higher in the west. So this rush where girls should be having kids in their early 20s shouldn't apply here.

What you feminists and immoral liberals fail to understand is that while life expectancy is up, the fertility window is not. The optimal fertility window for women is from the teens to their late 20s. It is a fact that women who delay childbearing to their 30s require significant medical intervention and have a very high likelihood of producing children with significant mental and physical abnormalities. s already have enough problems as it is.

Thank god women aren't reduced to baby factories anymore :kodaksmiley:

I read a study somewhere that older men are also more likely to produce babies with birth defects :icon lol:

Plenty of women have healthy normal children in their 30s. I just think that the Somali community need to stop viewing women as baby making machines. How is it that an old man in his late 40s goes back home and married a young girl about 18 as a second wife and no one bats an eyelid but an unmarried lady in her mid 20s is talked about and looked down on?

"Plenty" doesn't mean anything. Plenty of cigarette smokers are also otherwise healthy people. It does not magically make the adverse health risks go away.

Dangers of delaying motherhood until the age of 30

The science is well established. You can call the scientists misogynists as much as you'd like, but it doesn't make it any less valid.

The reason why the man marrying a younger is not so frowned upon is because historically it has been a model that works. Men gain maturity and access to resources as they age, which is desirable to women. Women's youth and beauty is what is desirable to men. It makes sense. In a natural environment, an older woman would not want anything to do with a younger man and vice-versa.

It's also hilarious how you refer to the natural biological imperative of women giving birth young as "babymaking machines". As if younger married women cannot accomplish whatever they desire in the professional world, or dare I say be a housewife. No, that's part of patriarchy and we can't be having that. :mjlol:

@dhegdheer Most of those studies have been debunked, even by the same scientists who originally published them. Read this:

Should men worry about being too old to have kids?

Most of them suffered from the authors essentially not properly controlling for all of the variables.

From the American Society for reproductive Medicine. Fertility drops in a noticeable way around 35 with instances of it occurring in your early 30s and late 20s however most women have none of these fears.

Another concern is that the majority of fertility studies still cite 19th century and mid 20th century figures (as in periods where health was marginalized and puberty had a smaller window).

Iirc a European study from the 2000s found a 4 percent gap between women who conceived in their early to mid 20s and those who conceived between 27 and 32.

What's more is the statistical disadvantages of teenage pregnancies and early 20s conception. Unemployment and abject poverty go hand and hand with young mothers. You truly were born in the wrong time period.

Also every study I read shows birth defects and miscarriages taking dramatic peaks at 35. 25-32 is the optimal age range in the 21st century.

Reading your study jubba but they found a trend after 30 and only compared to the 25-30 age range. The study itself inherently places the best time for childbearing after the teens and early 20s :comeon:

@Mohamud Did that study you mention actually control for things like marriage or the background of the couple in question? Of course, if you compare a young single mother who was the sidechick for some jailbird to an older and professional married couple, the results would clearly favor your worldview. Most of these European academics you are citing eschew the institution of marriage as an artifact of a patriarchal past and believe there is no fundamental difference between a married housewife vs an empowered and progressive single mother that just happens to be living off the state. They have a narrative to push and will go as far as to cite sloppy studies or even massage the data themselves.

:pacspit: @jubbaman you're just mad 16 yr olds can't be sold off to the highest bidder like in the old days.

:pacspit::pacspit::pacspit: Women have acces to resources now, I long for the day were beauty and youth won't be a defining factor hahahahahhaha u know it's coming, the hairy, bra burning feminists will see to it :rejoice:
