Only a reer baadiye has a strong regional accent. Even Ismail Omar Ghele doesn't have a strong Djiboutian accent. Educated and well traveled people have a moderated accent.

Fake state!
Someone snitched on him informing the Norway authorities that he wasn't born in Somalia but is Djiboutian. Miskeen they revoked his citizenship and now he's stuck in Norway with no way to get back home.
He said he's disappointed with Yusuf Garaad's response when he asked for help recently.

So what i have read, this state was basically a Issa state in waqooyi, they had a dispute with gadabursis awdal.

Why don't reer awdal and reer saylac work together and estabalish a state

They have a historical land dispute which goes back generations, mainly over Zaylac and villages in western SL's border with Djbouti. They can't share a village let alone a state.

Both this and "Awdal State" were made by a couple of odey's in the West who are looking to be bribed by SL, just like Ali Khalif and Khatumo State are now. It doesn't really exist in any fashion outside of the diaspora.

We have always shared villages and a state would be possible too.

Weak argument. SNM was started as a Diasporan project. The ideas or projects are still in their early years and can go anywhere.

No matter what, there isn't any incentive for the Cisse to do it, they migrated from these lands in large numbers after Djibouti independence in 1977 and today they have complete monopoly of their own administration in Djibouti. Most of them are fully invested in Djibouti and could care less about SL at this point.

You can't be serious. Comparing SNM to a xaflad composed of diaspora carpetbaggers is beyond asinine. SNM were dissidents, and these guys are shameless opportunists.

When the SNM declared Somaliland, they had buy in from other minority clans on the ground, the Burao and Borama conferences in 1993 was instrumental in this occurring.

The difference is that SNM actually gained monopoly of force in the areas we are discussing. SNM was light years away from these amateurs. No shit it started in London but that was in 1981 when Somalia was still under kacaan rule.

Other than a few xaflad each year where most of these manual gobleed states are declared. It is the same end result, a couple of odey's collect caydh from gullible members of their tol. "Awdal state" is the exact same thing, regardless of what you believe.

You are literally comparing this organized, and credible governing coalition that built a stable political project with minority community buy-in.

Borama Conference, 1993 :banderas:

To this shitshow which is little more than a mere xaflad organized by islaamo and won't ever leave the confines of a Tim Hortons in Canada.

"Awdal State" Conference, 2012 :pachah1::mjlol:

@Hoosjeed SNM came out of the bushes in 1991 after the Regime collapsed. It just got lucky because Somalia and Ethiopia were at loggerheads and Mengistu offered them a base in Ethiopia and USC got involved. Everyone know this. If Ethiopia and Somaliland don't see eye to eye anymore. The situation will drastically change. Without the involvement of Ethiopia or the USC. The struggle would have failed.

If SNM was formed today in the diaspora they would have a xaflad too, especially with Social Media. You would see little girls waving that blue SNM flag.

In fact the whole struggle to oppose the unification started in 1961. That's 3 decades of planning. Now you're laughing at something started in 2012?

it's simple the stronger a state is the stronger the rebel groups will be.

Somali's have suffered a brain drain and soldiers of the past and intellectuals were of a greater quality. SNM was compromised of businessmen, ex-Isaaq personnel of the SNA etc. The SNA of the past was a sophisticated army that can't be compared to the likes of the Somaliland or Somalia army today. So of course the Rebel groups were more sophisticated. This is common sense.

Simple as Somalia or Somaliland develops so will the rebel groups, e.g. soldiers defecting from the military or businessmen needs not being met.

Also the Somali region developing will also play a part as the people are becoming more rural. In the past it was a neglected area. This is good for the clans who's population reside mostly inside those borders.

kkkkkkkkk I'm telling you these diaspora movement never lead to anywhere.:siilaanyolaugh:

Every single one of them failed and will continue to fail. The blessed Republic will crush them all.

Right on adeer. They always say it's Diaspora project but fail to understand their project was started in the Diaspora too. Good point.

Are you seriously saying here that the SNM's struggle started in 1961. That was a coup attempt by some Isaaq Generals who were against unification, hardly representative of Isaaq's political grievance with the south, which didn't largely take place until roughly 15 years later. They just wanted unilateral power for themselves, and didn't speak for anyone.

Listen i'll be very frank here and say something that most Isaaqs might disagree with, but is largely true. The Kacaan was not all that bad for the first few years. Most Isaaq were on board with the project of joining the rest of Somalis in the south.

The problems in Waqooyi only largely started after the Ogaden war in 1977, where Afweyne started exploiting clan grievances largely between Ogaden and Isaaq subclans who border each other in the Haud. The SNM was formed as a defence league for Isaaq interests against collective punishment implemented on them by the regime. Even in the late 1980s they had no serious interest in seceding and wanted to fight against oppression.

None of this changes the fact that for the most part, the people of Awdal for the large part are content with SL. A Gadabursi child from Borame knows that in SL he can become somebody if he works hard. He has as much opportunity in SL as a Habar Awal from Berbera, an Eidagale from Hargeisa, a Habar Jeclo from Burao, and a Habar Yoonis from Erigavo.

The struggle to oppose the unification and separate was started in 1961 SNM was nothing more than an organization or a rebel group to reach that desire. Which put the whole struggle for seperation at more than 30 decades. They decided to come out in public after the regime was drastically weakened.

Whatever, you can call me a liar all you like but dismissing my claims won't change the reality on the ground. Reer Awdal vote with their solid participation in SL elections and business life. Even the most prominent Samaroon leader, Ahmed Samatar realized this when he was laughed out of the room in Xamar and subsequently joined the SL Kulmiye administration.

There's no need to take qurba joog who want to create false division and fitna between neighbours from the safety and comfort of the west seriously.

Please Ahmed Samatar is a nobody that took a decision based on emotions. They say never take a decision when you are angry, that is what he did. He and Abdi Samatar are both Mahad Casse they do not speak for 80% of the Gadabuursi clan and their mom mom is Sacad Muuse. They are both suckers. Most Mahad Case are short sighted and are suckers for their abti., abti jecleysi baa haya beeshaas. Ahmed Samatar if he really believed in Somaliland, he would try to take the share he deserves, especially in Gabiley where the Baha Samaroon live which is a Gabiley alliance between largely the Bahabar clans which are composed largely of his people. Some of them have grown serious cuqdad for the Makahiil, since their numbers are growing overwhelmingly in the region , crossing the border from Ethiopia. This resorted Habar Cafaan and Mahad Casse to supporting Sacad Muuse etc. and Qudhmiye. Funny enough they have been shamed by the own people they supported.

The fitna is being caused by your people themselves. They do not want to share a nation with the Gadabursi or Harti(Dhulbahante or Warsangeli) or other clans.

Spare me with the Samaroon internal disputes. Ahmed Samatar is the most prominent Gadabursi individual in the Diaspora, that's a fact.

Even Dahir Riyaale, a Makahiil Gadabursi was President for 7 years and Isaaqs were cool with it.:sass2:

Regarding Gabiley, the small number of Samaroon there are guests and nothing more. They are a minority community that live there at the pleasure of the majority Habar Awal Jibril Abokor clan who are the natives of Gabiley region.

As for northern Harti, they can at least truthfully claim to have no representation in SL. But the Gadabursi have no such leg to stand on.
