Bro I’m a woman and I have random red strands too, I searched it up awhile ago and it says we carry 1 gene mutation and if we had 2, we’d be gingers. Pretty cool, it must be a recessive gene.

I have a similar conditi9n where my eyes are more light brown than your average brown like hazelish, I dont get as much remarks on it but I get them time to time, I wonder if this is tied to the light allele gene from natufians thats dormant in somalis.

Here’s a photo of a half Somali and half Swedish child but how do Somalis have genes for lighter eyes and hair when we have dark brown eyes and black hair usually.

The child got it from the Swedish side. You won’t see a full Somali with those eyes.

Good point, if one side is lighter than average it will play a part for the child.

I dont wanna dox myself by giving out too much information but i saw this thread and I wanted to chime in.

i have green eyes and light brown/blondish hair. People often mistake me for being mixed but my whole family is like this and we are pure somalis.

Stop falsely accusing somalis like me to being mixed we are not. Its the normal Somali phenotype without proto-nilotic admixture that you guys have.
