How somalias parliament seats are broken down at the subclan level

When you look back at the amazing stories about the ajuraan clan, it’s pretty sad that they ended up in the 0.5 category. What were the reason for their downfall?
The 4.5 system is a temporary system. Vast majority of Ajuuraan live in Kenya and Ethiopia. Several clans of Hawiye ancestry, such as the Madhiban, the Ajuran etc have political seats under the 0.5 group instead of the 61 Hawiye seat. This originally occurred due to a disagreement among fellow Hawiye on how to divide their 61 seats in parliament and therefore to lessen tension and conflict among its subclans those 4 subclans were offered 0.5 seats to preserve their own reach and influence without hindrance by fellow Hawiye. This has been to an extent successful in extending the soft power reach of Hawiye in general where they can keep their lineage system intact while allowing fluidity in political influence.

Several geopolitical events led to the destruction of the Ajuuraan and the emergence of its successor, the Hiraab as well as the overthrow of the Silcis Gurgaarte (Ajuuraan vassals) by the Gobroon Dynasty (Geledi) in Afgooye.

@Somali Saayid you guys have the most seats amongst daaroods
Second most out of individual clans if your counting Issaq. Unfortunately there are only a couple gems that shine past the rest of the shit. If we got our act together Marexaan and go join together in a cacacus and vote on things that would actually benefit us 14 Xil as a voting block would certainly bring a game changer for any would be bill coming into consideration and we would actually get something out of this 4.5 madness.

why was this ever agreed to? Holy L
It was the only way of getting everyone to agree to the formation of the TNG at Carta in 2000.

The division of seats is not based on population or geography. At the clan family level it is strict equality between the big 4. Inside each clan family, it was up to them to decide how to divide their seats.

If you want to learn more about the Carta conference, watch this series of interviews.

I will watch this video fully. Will it explain why Majeerteen allowed themselves to ever get that amount of seats even though they brang governance back to somalia

Majeerteen were robbed to give seats to Marehan, because they were acting up. This was Abdulahi Yusuf AUN's way of trying to appease these people and what did we get out of it?

On which planet is it fair to give such few seats to one of the largest clans in Somalia. In fact, the largest real clan in Somalia corroborated by DNA evidence. The rest of these clans are not even all related let's keep it real.

I cannot wait for this injustice to be dissolved and we move onto 1M1V for true representation. And I hope this representation is based on politics and not clan. But if Somalis insist on clan representation, let everyone stand on their own two feet. I don't want Daaroods leeching off Majeerteen anymore and we get nothing but disrespect out of it.

Because Abdulahi Yusuf gave seats to Marehan to appease them. We all know that people are always envious and lusting after Majeerteen inheritance and wealth and by people, I mean Daaroods. Not just our political seats but our traditional deegaan such as Kismaayo.

It wouldn't sting as much, if there was some political compatibility and gratitude, but there is none. We are the ones being played for a socalled 'greater good'. I'd rather a 'greater good' that makes sense not this nonsense.

Politics and clan can never be separated in Somalia same way race and politics can’t be separated in America it’s just the nature of the environment

Just because someone is MJ doesn't mean I trust or like their politics. I will not vote along clan lines. I will vote for people who stand for Puntland's development regardless. And those people's homes are not compromised.

We are diasporas our mentality is different I’m sure you’ve seen how a lot of fobs back home can be blindly swayed by clan rhetoric especially when it comes to politics
