Last time this Act was used for deportation was in the 1800 and later on in WW2, for the sole reason to arrest and imprison Japanese Americans. President trump will be setting a precedent if this act is to be used again, similarly under the Obama administration, federal authorities were working overtime in the deportation of illegals. Approx 500,000 people were deported, due to the lack of staff on both state and federal levels, so the introduction of the army been involved could ideally speed up the process. In saying that, for this to happen relevant legislation would need to pass the congress, to allow army personnel to operate on US soil, due to the heavy restrictions that has been imposed by the government and constitution. Would be interesting to see if he can pull this off.
