Huge Syrian pro rebel account: Risk of Syria turning into a new Somalia

Intense efforts are underway to convince the current U.S. administration & Trump’s team of the following risks:

The return of extremism & the risk of turning Syria into a new Somalia.
• Turkish expansion poses a threat to the Kurds & the U.S. presence in eastern Syria.
• A renewed opportunity for Hezbollah & Iranian militias to return to Syria & exploit the regime’s weakness to solidify their presence even more than before.

Syria is a shithole and is worse off than Somalia. That’s why there’s so many Syrian refugees in Mogadishu. Arabs are delusional

I hate this “the new Somalia” term. Syria was involved in multiple wars before Somalia even existed. Just blatant disrespect.

What does it even mean? Total state failure? Because at no point past around 1995 was that even true. You’ll never see them call never-ending sectarian violence “the new Lebanon” though

One Somali guy is heartbroken that his Syrian brothers would refer to Somalia as a failed state:

Bashar al Assad has made Syria worse than Somalia and playground for foreign powers.

Gaddafi used the S word back in 2011, then did Ali Abdalla Salah of Yemen right after, Bashar al assad followed the path and used the S word frequently just before Syrias collapse, just recently Sudan was last to use the S word. They all said" Dont become like Somalia"

Who is next to use the S word

As if this verse was exclusively revealed upon us somalis

Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]" (Surah Ar-Rum, 30:41)

Beautiful ayat

Syria literally rains white phosphorus, which burns people's flesh right off. Show me when that has happened in Somalia?

Delusional goatfuckers
The ethiopians used phosphorus in Mogadishu in 2007 when they massacred thousands of somalis.

Ethiopia accused of using white phosphorus bombs in US-backed occupation of Somalia

its a political term mostly used to describe complete societal and institutional collapse.

here is a chatgpt response:

"Somalification" is a political term used to describe the process or phenomenon where a country or region experiences state collapse, fragmentation, or severe dysfunction, leading to the breakdown of centralized authority and governance, often accompanied by widespread violence, anarchy, and the rise of local or tribal warlords or militias. The term is derived from the experience of Somalia, which, after the fall of its central government in 1991, descended into a prolonged period of civil war, territorial fragmentation, and the absence of a functional state.

Somalification typically refers to situations where a state loses control over its territory, resulting in:

  1. Collapse of central authority: The government becomes ineffective or disintegrates, and there is no clear political order or system in place to manage national affairs.
  2. Rise of militias or warlords: Various factions, often based on ethnic, regional, or clan divisions, vie for control of territory and resources. These factions might rely on force rather than governance.
  3. Widespread violence and instability: The lack of central authority leads to civil conflict, creating conditions of lawlessness, chaos, and human suffering.
  4. Fragmentation of the state: The country's territorial integrity may be compromised, with regions or local areas effectively operating as independent zones under the control of different warlords, militias, or even foreign actors.
Somalification can also be used more broadly to describe situations in other parts of the world where countries are at risk of disintegration or where state authority has eroded to the point of collapse. It is often used in discussions about failed states or regions in crisis.

Examples of places where the term has been invoked, besides Somalia, include countries like Yemen, Syria, or Libya, where the state has fragmented or is at risk of doing so due to civil war or conflict.

The gall! :reallymaury: Syrians beg in the streets of major Somali cities and towns. I've seen it with my own two eyes. Nothing screams humiliated failed state like having your citizens reduced to such a state in your boogeyman "Somalia" of all places :farole:

Somalia really need to turn around their whole image and do a big shake. How long are we going to be the punching bag for the world? The next president has to be the one that will change Somalia forever.

it means becoming somalia. in arabic politics they say صوملة which can mean somalification/somalization/somalinimo.
Of all the conflicts in the Middle East with some predating the war in Somalia, they never attached any of their fellow Arab countries to a specific situation. For example, the decades old sectarian violence between Shias and Sunnis in Iraq.

Yet, these backstabbing traitors were quick to besmirch our name as a way of scaring their citizens from revolting against their monarchs and dictators.

Theres countries that have gone through stuff far worse than Somalia has ever experienced and some that are still in it till this day but they always mention Somalia. I find it very weird.
