Where did you hear this? I've never heard this.
Its not what I have heard its fact. Somalis migrated south not too long ago and many clans that inhabit south today have their ancenstors buried in north.Where did you hear this? I've never heard this.

I dont know but its should be something I should know.
There's no proof of this. I can claim that my ancestors are buried in Awdal but that doesn't make it true.
Proof is in Somali history and the migration south and I'm talking about "regular" somalis now. For example when Ogaden moved to jubaland they encountered different non somali people there. And this was just 200 years ago. If somalis have allways been in south this would not happen. There's no proof of this. I can claim that my ancestors are buried in Awdal but that doesn't make it true.
Abgal is buried between Sheikh and Berbera in a place called Abdaal. I think many Somali clans started in the northwest.
Majerteens mother is Isa. Did Isa live in Puntland hundreds of years ago?
Somalis are relative new to south Somalia but you are right we are nomads and moved around alot of whats today is Ethiopia and northern somalia.Well our clan moved from nw somalia to mudug, but somalis have been around a lot longer. Somalis are nomads and move all across somalia so the possible patriarch of a subclan being buried in the north (even if it's true) wouldn't tell you where all somalis originate.

So? Abgal aren't even the southernmost clan. Gaaljecel/garre/degoddia/ogaden/sheikhal and so many others have lived in the south.
Aren't there Murule clans that live in the northern K5? I read somewhere Hawiye clans had their villages burned down by Oromos a decade ago and they fled to Afar region for safety.
These clans stayed while others moved south
You mean you're willing to give up you're sub-sub-sub clan of Dir. You won't be giving up much, sxb.
There is ample proof:
Note the use of "traditional view" (i.e the most accepted view among academics in this field). Both Cerulli's (1957) and I.M Lewis (1959a, 1960) prove this fact beyond any doubt with the use of archaeological evidence. South and South-western Somalia's original inhabitants were Oromo before being driven out by the Somali invaders from the North.

You are corrrect abaayo but all these clans have one thing in common. We all are relative new to the south. My own family has not been in south for more than 150 years. We came from Mudug and have clan relatives there who didnt made the journey south.I never said there were no hawiye in the north though. I don't know a lot about them. Im just saying there are many southern clans not just abgal.
Sheekhal clan are from Harar and the first clan that went deep in the south was Ogaden. Gaaljecel comes later. Garre I cant speak of.
I didn't even know anyone knew we existedI'm going to be Geri for one week, I've always associated them with giraffes.
If anyone in here is Geri I want to learn more about your ancestors.
