Depends where to be honest. I have seen a lot of fat people in Somalia and everyone just minds their own business. If they tell you to cut your belly, it’s not to shame you but genuine advice.

Cant lie they are very forthright. I remember when I was an ciyaal I was walking on the street with a family member and some man that I think was their cousin told them to lose weight. Went from Asc right into why are you big. Never saw him again too. Me personally I feel ceeb. I can't do it.

A lot of guys back home are skinny-fat or overweight. Refined carbs and seed oils are very cheap and readily available all over Africa. Big and small bellies galore anywhere in a major Somali town or city if you walk down the streets and beaten paths. But full-on obesity is still rare and Somalis are a frank people. I've never witnessed vicious and hateful bullying, though. Just teasing, nicknames like "buur" and randos making comments about how you need to lose weight like some on the thread have recounted.
What is that large barrel called that held water that Somalis had in their homes? If you were fat, Somalis would call you whatever it is called in Somali (I forgot the word).
Somalis also call you Oromo or qof jiran if you can't speak Somali.

Somalis are very annoying when it comes to weight. My grandma fatshamed me for being chubby when I was like 11-12 years old. Then comes exam season, and I lose quite a lot weight (but not to a bad level) and she's crying about me starving myself. Tf do people want.
This reminds me of this rude ass somali co worker who out of no where started picking on me and calling me big and how i can lift things while i was working with these two somali girls.
