I wanted to be a nurse at one point but stopped because of how stressful it is. And the interview round is so difficult they expect you to retake Numeracy and literacy exam. Not worth the fuss. I want to now become a teaching assistant

Healthcare is a horrible field to work in and this is coming from a Canadian where we have way better wages in the field compared to the UK.

People lose empathy and compassion and the works drains you dry emotionally and physically. Everyone i know that works in healthcare is miserable and overworked.

Nurses make great money in America. You can leave school and start off earning 60-70k in most major cities after you graduate. After 5 years most chicks are earning around 80-90k.

Nurses can even go back to school for 2-3 years and become nurse practitioners earning 100-120k+.

I've said it on here before but your avg nurse is definitely making more money than most niggas in IT. I'm honestly surprised we don't have more Somali niggas in this field.

It's difficult to say because if how th economy is crumbling right before our eyes here in the uk to the point there's either upper class or lower class. Having said that I would day any degree jobs will put you in middle class but on the lower tier. It's not like the middle class I'm America where you can get a big home. You will be lucky to find a flat here smh

Only thing that pays well in this country (you live in London right?) is corporate. So just try to find a job there or move out. Honestly salaries aren’t the be all and end all if you do something you truly love.

I have nurses in my family and I wrote that struggle but genuinely enjoy it. So I wouldn’t tell them to change careers.

They put up with a lot.

If you scroll all the way down, there's a list of names of registered nurses that made $300K last year. It's a list of government workers who make over $100K. I don't know how that is possible. That's alot of overtime. They must have some serious thick skin.

Lots of them work overtime. I personally know one that works 2 extra overtime shifts just for the extra cash. Her original schedule is a 3 days a week 12 hrs a shift.

Ong I wouldn’t recommend I have a lot of smoky members working as a nurse. They are underpaid, overworked and badly treated. It’s not worth it in the uk
