Aegon
The Conqueror, King of all Westeros
It feels like everyday I get up just to go to work and count down the time until I get to leave. When I leave work on Fridays, it always sets in that the weekend is going to go quickly, and I feel so much guilt for not “appreciating my free time properly”. I wake up early in the morning before work and stay up way too late at night just to feel like I have some sort of free time.
It’s not that I dislike my job; I, for the most part, like my coworkers and the work is easy; I just generally hate spending so much time working. I need the paycheck to pay my bills and rent, but that is my only incentive to keep going everyday. I do not know how to cope with this dreadfulness anymore. How do people do this for decades upon decades ?
"Hard work always pays off" is the worst kind of propaganda. Keeps you working thinking that the payoff is going to come when in reality it never does. Some people just get lucky.
