Is that so? Because I saw some people say that Cushites were apart of it too. Though whether they were part of the ruling power or not is uncertain. No but we wuz part of the punt kingdom and macaroni kingdom. Kush kingdom was Sudan
Maybe other cushites but not SomalisIs that so? Because I saw some people say that Cushites were apart of it too. Though whether they were part of the ruling power or not is uncertain.
Why not?Maybe other cushites but not Somalis
Fake stories. Plus, I was talking about something else entirely. Stay on topicWe wuz chillin. Sheikh daroood and isaaq came out of no where with floating boats. Both married dir womans we wuz busy producing yk?
I’m saying we wuz busy making kids and qabils, we didn’t want to be part of them and we had other kingdomsFake stories. Plus, I was talking about something else entirely. Stay on topic
So it’s true? Cushites decended from the Kingdom of Kush, which in turn the Somalis decended from?No such things as Somalis back than, Kush was in Sudan
It’s most likely that Somalis are in part descended from a Cushitic speaking population of basal west eurasians who were traversing south from Egypt and through into what is now eastern sudan before reaching deep into the horn. I suspect the same is also true for other closely related Cushitic speaking groups such as the Afars and saho etc. whether the kingdom of Kush had any clear cut connections to the Cushitic speaking people of today, apart from the obvious shared name, is contentious in my opinion. So it’s true? Cushites decended from the Kingdom of Kush, which in turn the Somalis decended from?
probably I see no reason since we were in such close proximity and have words in our language that is from there (I think)Were Somalis (or Cushities) part of the Kingdom of Kush? And can we trace our ancestry back there?
There is no definitive proof for the hypothesis, even the term “Cushitic” itself is derived from a supposed connection to the kingdom of Kush and was popularised by academics as a way to label the related languages spoken in the Horn of Africa, since it’s hypothesised they originated from upper Egypt and northern sudan, which is identified with the kingdom of Kushprobably I see no reason since we were in such close proximity and have words in our language that is from there (I think)
Makes sense. Is there anyone else that knows anything about this. Maybe @Niloticprobably I see no reason since we were in such close proximity and have words in our language that is from there (I think)
My grandfather entered the horn around the 11-12th century. As for the others, probably 7-10k years ago is my guess.better leading question is when did Somalis come to the horn
We had nothing to do with them kush was a nilotic kingdom whereas we came from the kingdom of Punt, a horn of African super power with some of the best architecture in the world. Were Somalis (or Cushities) part of the Kingdom of Kush? And can we trace our ancestry back there?
Don't let the terms kush and cush confuse you, one was a the sudanese kingdom and the other is the biblical patriach of the cushitic people which as already been disproved. The cushitic people are a result of ancient proto nilotic and natufian mixing, Somali dna is comprised of 60% natufian, these were a people who lived in the modern day levant and migrated to the eastern sahara due to an ice age, this mixing was ancient and happened roughly 10,000 years ago so it is irrelevant to kushprobably I see no reason since we were in such close proximity and have words in our language that is from there (I think)
Who is your grand father? My grandfather entered the horn around the 11-12th century. As for the others, probably 7-10k years ago is my guess.
Yes that's what most historians believe but somalis dont wanna admit it coz if they do, that means land of punt wasnt really them.So it’s true? Cushites decended from the Kingdom of Kush, which in turn the Somalis decended from?
