Is that so? Because I saw some people say that Cushites were apart of it too. Though whether they were part of the ruling power or not is uncertain.

It’s most likely that Somalis are in part descended from a Cushitic speaking population of basal west eurasians who were traversing south from Egypt and through into what is now eastern sudan before reaching deep into the horn. I suspect the same is also true for other closely related Cushitic speaking groups such as the Afars and saho etc. whether the kingdom of Kush had any clear cut connections to the Cushitic speaking people of today, apart from the obvious shared name, is contentious in my opinion.

There is no definitive proof for the hypothesis, even the term “Cushitic” itself is derived from a supposed connection to the kingdom of Kush and was popularised by academics as a way to label the related languages spoken in the Horn of Africa, since it’s hypothesised they originated from upper Egypt and northern sudan, which is identified with the kingdom of Kush

My grandfather entered the horn around the 11-12th century. As for the others, probably 7-10k years ago is my guess.
We had nothing to do with them kush was a nilotic kingdom whereas we came from the kingdom of Punt, a horn of African super power with some of the best architecture in the world.
Don't let the terms kush and cush confuse you, one was a the sudanese kingdom and the other is the biblical patriach of the cushitic people which as already been disproved. The cushitic people are a result of ancient proto nilotic and natufian mixing, Somali dna is comprised of 60% natufian, these were a people who lived in the modern day levant and migrated to the eastern sahara due to an ice age, this mixing was ancient and happened roughly 10,000 years ago so it is irrelevant to kush

Yes that's what most historians believe but somalis dont wanna admit it coz if they do, that means land of punt wasnt really them.
The reason why some historians say we came from kush is mainly coz we speak a cushitic language, oromos and habesha are also stated to be from kush
