That said, as years go by the law of averages would catch up with many dysfunctional Somali families in the West. Compounding the problem is parental absenteism. Even many moms may be physically there for their kids, however, they are emotionally absent from their kids' day to day lives and hardly help them with schoolwork...I feel sorry for those kids.
