I have started to notice something very strange

In the past couple of months, I have met at least two odays who did not ask my Qabiil during our conversation. I found it strange but also upon talking to them, I have noticed that they also like to talk about general Somali well-being as a whole with no barriers.

This is very rare; where I am from, as the first thing an Oday would ask you is “Yaa Tahay” then instantly conjure up your whole life story.

In my opinion I think this is excellent and I have personally stopped identifying my qabiil years ago as a kid.

times are changing.

This Is the correct direction. This ignorance of qabiil should die. Tribalism is cancerous. I remember a father refusing his daughter to a Somali man who was of minor tribe, but had no problem giving his blessings when she married a Pakistani.

I would double slap that oday. Kulaha marry ajanabi and deny your own. Self hatred is rife I am afraid.

Most likely because she brought him after he rejected the Somali guy. Wa ceeb if he rejects a second time apparently.

Where do you live? Those odeyal are ilbaax. Most likely highly educated and came before the war.

You'd be surprised. It makes no sense but it happens. I guess they figure if they turn down the ajanabi, she'll just bring another one, so might as well agree.
If that is the case, she can just claim the Somali man is Ajnabi , change his name to Abdus samaratus Or something. :deadmanny:

What does you dad look for a a suitable man? If you don’t me asking.
Somali with some form of Somali daqan aswell
Someone he can respect
Practicing or from a practicing family
Responsible
He was a bit tribal before but he’s become more lenient of late

Does he prefer only your tribe, or does he just not allow certain tribes?
