What clan are you? I'm positive these isaaqs would FKD your ass if your people were getting smoked.
What my clan is or whether Issaqs FKD my ass don't matter. If we were at the wrong side if history, we should acknowledge. The victims and perpetrators are mostly dead or older now so it is upto us the new generation to acknowledge the killings and bloodshed was wrong if we want to move forward from cuqdad and qabilism.

In principle, I agree progeny ought to acknowledge crimes of their sire, the same way they accept, and expect their heritage, wealth or otherwise.

I am curious: has the level of your sense of guilt changed, or been adjusted since the 2022 Las Anod conflict? If no, how do you decouple the two?

My FKD knowledge is limited. You'll have to tell me which qabils were involved in the las anode conflict ? What were the damages and who betrayed or abused their power to win?

I don't have that, but I don't get comfortable with isaaqis, especially those from UK, they hate other Somalis, and actively working to throw us under the bus for anything, cag ii noodigan.

I noticed this cuqdad with some isaaqs but do you blame them? If you still have grandparents, aunts suffering from the aftermath of this war, I will be wary of the "qabils" that were responsible for it. It is just human nature.

Somalia… I lose hope everyday but one place inside of me I still believe in my heart that Somalia will rise into its glory. We owe it to our ancestors and to all the people who lost their lives during the civil war. But we have to cut the clan shit and actually see each other as somalis, like I never understood this when I was younger why we had issues as a nation . We are a homogeneous country we speak one language and have one culture :mjcry:

This the most jileec shit I’ve seen in so long. Why the f*ck should you be held accountable for the actions of your ancestors? At the same time you’re making it seem like they were some miskeen madow who were enslaved.

You lack reading comprehension.

First, I put my title in quotes because someone said this to me when I brought up how messed up this massacre was. My concern was compared to white guilt. And I also never compared isaaqs to African Americans.

The second they got bombed they came back and fought for their own independence. They talk shit about reer konfuur because they are also racist/tribalist, it isn’t just rooted from them being massacred. You’re letting them off too easy.

But alot of reer waqooyi are not over it. And they have a right to be wary of reer konfur given this bad history. Why not acknowledge and apologize to them?

They are right to mistrust us about the betrayal and wrong to be qabiliste. Both can be true.

With this logic you should feel guilt for me too, your ancestors committed genocide on some of my rx cousins in Bay. So I want the same unnecessary xishood that you give landers. But your fellow konfuurians are right, dhiig ma lihid wallahi.

If you were genuine, my post history will show you that I have talked against the qabilism in konfur. This is my very first post addressing this issue. Also, if you are not a descendant of those involved in this massacre, you have nothing to feel guilty about, I guess.

Unnecessary xishood you say? The projection and whataboutism in your argument proves how disingenuous you are. I doubt you'll have cared about isaaqs even if your qabil was not subjugated. Yes, I'll take being bila dhig over being a sociopath dulli oo bilaa naxaris ah anyday..

The Majeerteen ethnic cleansing happened in 1978 when Isaaq were happy with Siad Barre. Fun fact, their SNM heroes lead the genocide campaign along with MOD red berets. Bantu soldiers were also involved in attacking MJs.

Thousands poisoned, massacred and arrested. They even poisoned the wells and burnt people's houses. It was a scorced earth policy. There was no outrage by Somalis about this. In fact, nobody ever apologised or cared.

Moreover, Somalilanders deleted the Wiki pages that mentioned the MJ ethnic cleansing because they want to act like their heroes were not involved. Most importantly, they spread propaganda that they are the only victims of the brutal Kacaan regime.

@Hodan from HR, ask your family what happened during that time sis. And don't fall for the "we were the only victims" BULLSHIT.

I posted this before on the forum:

=============

In 1978, Ahmed Saleebaan Dafle, did a speech in Gaalkacyo and said MJ blood and property is 'halal' for the taking, said we left Islam. His troops subsequently raped, poisoned, burnt and murdered thousands of MJs.

The other men in charge of this ethnic cleansing campaign were all Isaaq

Maxamed Kaahin
Dhagawayne
Xasan Tanzania
Ahmed Mire
Maxamed Nuux

+ Red Beret troops (including Bantu soldiers, for those who think Bantu Somalis are 'innocent' when it comes to Somali conflicts.

NUGAAL

Over 250 houses destroyed
105 wells/water cachments destroyed + poisoned
450 people massacred (of course including women, children and elderly).

In the following places:
Kalabayr, Jalam, Eyl, Rabaable, Magacley, Maygaag, Sugulle, Ballidacar, Qamboobley.

MUDUG:
The following places were targeted for ethnic cleansing:

Ballibusle, Seemade, Qalaanqal, Gosol, Xarfo, Qorile-Dheere, Barde Gobol, Gacnafale, Bacaadweyn, Roox, Labagardaye, Sagaaro-doox, Dogob, Dudun, Galxamur,Laanmadow,Riigomane,Candho-dhexe, Bursaalax,Taaloole,Bayra,Nugaalgaban,

1500 houses burnt
350 water cachments destroyed and poisoned
Over 800 people massacred (of course including women, children and elderly).

It is my first time hearing about the Majerteen ethnic cleanings. I agree, nothing hurts than having your own people betray and kill you enmasses. We should educate each other and be open about this atrocities so those whose ancestors were involved need to apologize. What happened during the majerteen ethnic cleanings was horrible and what happened during issaq massacre was horrible. Both can be true.

If you've noticed, it is always the children and women who suffer the most in these wars. I just want our generation to not have cuqdad towards each other and do better. It starts with having these uncomfortable conversations. It doesn't make me happy to disapprove of my relatives, most of whom are dead, but we can move forward by acknowledging these painful pasts.

Somaliland were abusing their power against the people of Laascaanood. Heres a quote from an article, "Somaliland forces indiscriminately shelled the town, damaged hospitals, schools and mosques and displaced tens of thousands of people." They've been killing innocent Dhulbahante for many years now even before this conflict occurred. When I was a kid I would hear about family members being killed and we could do nothing about it. They would get killed in the streets and no justice would be uphold. The SL government would also jail innocent people and torture them in their jails. Denying them of basic humans rights. I have both Isaaq and Dhulbahante family but its so jarring to see how many of my SL family support their government in what they do. I can't even speak to them or look them in the eye. What happened to the isaaqs was horrific but why is it that they are using the tactics that was used on them to go harm and kill our innocent families. I have more horrific stories of what SL has done but I don't want to doxx myself.

They would unlawfully jail innocent people and torture them in jail. Wallahi they had no naxariis in the way they would kill people. Families would beg to have their family members returned back to them. That they need to get treated or else they would die. And SL did not care they let them die in their jails. Sometimes I wonder why we are cursed to have such inhumane people in our own world.

Is your new man isaaq or something? Trouble with the in-laws? likkle romeo and juliet ting?

The civil war fucked everyone, sure some more than others but treating them differently and feeling guilt wallahi I'd laugh if you mentioned that irl. They are no more victims than every other clan.

Qabilism is a cancer in our society. It's so sad. I'm half hawiye half darood and my relatives talk smack about each other. It is crazy. I really pray this jahilnimo ends with older generations. We gotta do better.

So inhumane. It is like there is no difference between how somali qabils treat each other and how China is treating uyghurs muslims. We are still killing each other for qabil in the 21st century? Really?? :frdfvsb:

:dead::dead::damn:

Likkle romeo and juliet kulahaa, I'm dyinnnnn..

My bestie is half isaaq. Her isaaq hoyo is such a sweet kind likkle lady tho. I loves her. She was orphaned during this war. When she was telling me how her father and mother died then she was raised by her older brother, I felt ashamed walahi.

On the other end, I had an awowe, my maternal grandmother younger brother. He had a scar from this war and told us how he got it. I loved running into his arms as a kid. He would lift me up and throw me in the air. He was also very generous and gave me and my siblings a lot of money during eid.

How does one love and care for both without feeling like I'm betraying the other? It's never easy but haqq is haqq.

The civil war fucked everyone, sure some more than others but treating them differently and feeling guilt wallahi I'd laugh if you mentioned that irl. They are no more victims than every other clan.

The issaq genocide happened first right? I personally think this haqdaro resulted in the domino effect all over the nation.

I still believe it is the right thing for qabils to acknowledge and formally apologize for atrocities. However, I realize somaliweyn as a whole have a long way to go..

Blimey, you are a rare breed. Bless you!

You are not familiar with Goojacadde & Jamaahiir? Where have you been in 2022 - 2023? Under a rock in Tora Bora?

This is not actually FKD, for I am not equipped to partake in that dark art.

In a nutshell, the culprits were SL (mostly Isaqs) and their supporters incl. Jibouti (weapons) and the gov't in Xamar (funds and political cover hiding atrocities and the level of destruction reporting to the UN only a handful had been killed), who used state institutions and heavy artillery to indiscriminately bombard the city of Las Anod, Sool, a Harti / Darod region. For 9 months, they bombarded the city with heavy weapons targeting critical infrastructure to punish its population from the primary water supply (a newly built plant) to main power station to petrol stations to hospitals to heavily populated neighbourhoods killing many unarmed civilians most of whom were children, elderly, and 'birimagaydho' incl. renowned poet Jamac Kadiye.

In the end, the Isaqs had been disarmed with many of their Sr army officers either killed, or arrested with the exception of a few who managed to escape.

Almost every person from SL (notice here I am drawing a distinction between SL & Isaq for a reason) incl. those in sSpot, diaspora, and many people from Xamar were cheering them on supporting the massacre.

Reason: They are against secession, believe in Somali unity, are not Isaq.

Massacre of Las Anod;
An hour long programme about Las Anod massacre by Cabdirisaaq Terra, an Isaq reporter, who visited the city a few months into the massacre.

Here is Las Anod today, a year + after.

Now, what do you make of that?

Postscript:
Of the many poems, I like the Dhuuma badane Silsilah the most.
