Change the way you see food in your mind. Hadda you eat for pleasure. But you need to change your perspective to eat to fuel your maskax and body. Whatever foods you eat with added sugar, will only make you feel good for a short time compared to how crappy you will feel in the long-t.

One way to stop this addiction is to learn all the harms of it first and then find solutions best suited for you to control yourself. Don’t just think about the weight. The hidden damage being done to your brain and organs is far worse. Think of your body as an amaanah from Allah. Do your best to nourish it with the best of foods and not over consume junk.

I tried cutting out added sugar when I lived with my family. It only lasted for about three months before I quit. The number of sweets available was too tempting especially during times of stress.

I listened to podcasts with actual good doctors talking about this and the benefits of intermittent fasting which gave me motivation to try again. If someone is fasting, they’ll normally try to eat only that which will give their body nutrition and long-lasting energy. Fasting the Islamic way helps to curb our desires. It helps you get closer to Allah most importantly too. I would say try to do it (intention is for Allah’s sake) with the added bonus of gaining self-discipline from your sugar addiction.

yep, its also a prob. i'll tell them to stop buying, but them blop! it's on the table! :damn:
Don’t tell them what your plans are. Keep it secret with yourself. You never know who is trying to sabotage you lol. Just make an excuse when they tell you to eat it. I tell my coworkers I’m watching my sugar. They don’t bother me with sweets after that.

I had (still have) a problem with sugar. I would eat a whole packet of maynards candy in one sitting.
My advice: Find something else that is sweet. I like frozen blueberries, I find them delicious and are a great snack replacement. Be careful tho....your lips will turn purple/blue. So eat it at home

:damedamn:

Also , think about your teeth!! that has been my biggest motivator to stay away from sugar. I remember going to the dentist last time and I left in tears.. I hate the drill tool they use :ileycry:

You don’t necessarily have to completely cut off sweets from your diet to lose weight, it’d generally make it easier since you’re removing an unnecessary source of calories but as long as you’re in a deficit you’ll still lose weight - the only big issue with the sweets is the cravings you get, it could be just an addiction but it might also be a sign of nutritional deficiencies or a lack of insulin sensitivity.

That's good advice. sometimes i'll ask my self "am i hungry or bored?", i did this a lot during my 2020 weight loss and it worked. I do the same now but it's not working. Intermittent fast is great. i do it and it helps. I feel like with out it, I could have gained even more that what I gained now. i don't eat after 7pm, i drink a cup of tea tho, and plenty of water. I eat breakfast around 9-9:30am or even later. My problem is the huge eating that I do in between 11am to 4pm.

only my family know tho.

Don't stress about your weight too much, especially once you get to a regular BMI. Try to eat nutritious meals and stay active. If you are a breakfast person, get your protein in the morning.. it keeps you full for a longer time.

Even your family. You have goals you want to reach, right? Don’t share them!

Also, check out this book.

If anything I should be taking my own advice..

I don't want to lose soo much, just until 145-150 lbs. but what I want to do is decrease the amount of sweets i'm eating, cuz its just waaaaayyyy too much
