People suffering a continuous ethnic cleansing for 70 years deserve my concern. This includes the Uyghurs in China, the Kurds and all others. You're right that this isn't how to win geopolitics but at least someone said something. Every day I watch people's heads get blow off and our leaders stay silent or condone it, it's maddening.
we're located in a very, very strategic position in the world, Ethiopia and Keyna have already been lost to China. We're the only potential U.S. allies in that area since we're still "unclaimed".

Hamaz would've done better to not mention Hamaz at all in his speech, he did mention the development of a 2 state solution which is favored by the US. I think the reports are highly focused in his "Hamaz are freedom fighters" moment, which he's not wholly wrong about. Freedom fighters are often labeled as terrorists by the establishment that suppresses them.
The US interest in the Horn is far too vital to simply cut. They'll probably get the SFG release a statement "clarifying" PM statements, and that'll be the end of it. So, the core argument is: one sees an entire population being massacred, and out of self-interest, one would want to look the other away, lest if one speaks out against said atrocities, one might lose out. And in return, one would want, or expect, to be rewarded, or assisted by those inflicting dead and destruction upon said population. This is the logic? There is a word for that mindset.
