I used to be against political correct and diverse cast in movies but had a second thought about it

I used to think the same until like 2020 where i noticed that Hollywood and the entertainment industry have found a successful formula with it, the more controversial the casting choice is the less they have to spend on marketing because people from all political spectrum will go back and forth discussing it... These companies don't see black people as real people anymore and definitely don't care about the hordes of abuse the actors will have to deal with as long as their product sells look at the little mermaid live action sales (half a billion) and watch the sales of the new assasins creed game in the next few weeks.

If i really wanted black representation in a show or a movie that matches the industry's standards i'd watch something like snowfall, atlanta, they cloned tyrone or any Jordan Peele movie (some of yall will disagree lol), shows and movies that are made by black people for a black audience instead of clinging to cadaans leftovers and calling it "representation"

They did this to the girl playing Annabeth in the Percy Jackson series. Even though the author of the book clearly picked her. They were attacking a child. I don’t get how a human being can stoop so low to threaten and attack a child. A true illness these people have.

I kind of agree. It's so obvious. They always through their actors to the wolves and let them get a ton of racist backlash. However, I think of little black girls who like ariel for example, they were really excited when they found out ariel was going to be black. If you're mad at that, that's just sociopathic behaviour.
Sometimes in stories where race is not an important factor, I don't think it's all that big of a deal.

My thing is why should kids even be excited about a character's "race" idk if identity politics is rotting people's brains but when i was a kid we used to look up to these fictional characters not for how they look but for how cool they are and what they represent ie Goku, batman, aang etc no one cared if the green lantern was hal jordan or john stewart... Same story with girls and barbie or bratz the race of the characters wasn't in the picture.
That being said people turning it into a big deal are losers especially if the target audience are kids lol but I'd still much more prefer if they made original black characters instead of just race swapping already existing AND ICONIC characters

There used to be many movies with diverse casts but social media racists make it seem like it shouldnt happen. I always think if we had social media earlier movies like rush hour, charlies angels, cheetah girls, and blade etc would all be woke movies....-_- im glad i remember a time b4 these weirdos gave opinions. Yeah I agree 1000%, But would like to add something on that. A have a feeling that they just trying to mock black people, wouldn't give a f*ck about the race of a fictional character, ofc I would like to see some brothers but why the f*ck would they claim that the vikings was black for example.
