Canada isn't a destination I'm considering, it's just like Europe but with extra steps (very high taxes, low paying jobs even in software development, extremely high cost of living).

I could get to Québéc very easily like you said then move to the US via a TN visa but that shit takes a while.

I am thinking about applying for a job at a US company with offices in Switzerland then ask for a lateral move to the US from inside, I wouldn't even have to participate in the H1B lottery this way.
