How do you mess up a relationship? I'm unfamiliar with dating because I have a more provider/father-type relationship. I assume you stopped providing attention, or perhaps you did something big but didn't mention it.

It's true but how else are you supposed to get to know her and get close? If you trying to be a nonchalant guy then that may work on silly girls but keepers will keep it stepping cause they have respect for themselves. You don't want the mother of your kids to be some chick you can manipulate. She has to have the mental fortitude to see past silly dating tricks. Well, there's nuance to it but yes I agree. Those guys are basing their opinions on party girls that live a mile a minute doing hookups all the time.
You just made yourself emotionally attached to them, which is something you shouldnt do unless marriage is guaranteed but if you were messing around or not that serious you shouldnt have gotten attached/cared. Thats what I do atleast.
