Probably the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life lol!!
So to start out, this girl I know had no one to go with her and an extra ticket and I don’t leave the house that often so I don’t go out at all and I hadn’t been to a Somali concert before, so I decided to say yes. I’m around caadan people for way too long so it would be good to reconnect with my culture. Oh my god how wrong I was!
So first red flag would probably be all the guys loitering at the front of the building, it was super obvious they were checking to see what girls were coming in.
After entering, we sat down at our seats and waited 2 HOURS for her to arrive, and the thirst in the room was fucking real! This wasn’t a concert this was tinder irl LOL someone should have told me.
anyway so it gets to the event and watching fobs dancing has to be the funniest thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life
A lot of the men were drunk and one tried fighting with the security guard who refused to let him back in.
So after the show, I spoke to Kiin Jamac and basically said ‘hey I don’t speak Somali that much but I really like your music and it helps me learn’ (and it’s true walahi I don’t listen to a lot of Somali
music because I can’t understand the language that well but I like her and farhiya Fiska) and when I tell you she gave me a disgusted look Lol this bitcch had her titties out but was looking at me disgusted for that?! Anyway the older lady who was with her was really happy and said good for you essentially while Kiin said nothing and went back to a fake smile. Another girl went after who just said she was pretty and her whole demeanor changed and she was happy again wtf!
So after that we pretty much only stayed for 10 mins and then left.
All in all 0/10 experience, the whole time I was there all I could think about was how I if I died there I was going to hell….. for Kiin fucking Jamac. Never going to a concert again, guess there are better ways to connect to your culture.
But also why are Somali people like this? The entire event was just BAD VIBES, the women were in competition with one another to get mens attention even the girl I came with, and the guys were there to ‘window shop’ and were staring at every woman to see who they can sleep with, we’re drunk and smoking weed outside. just yikes yikes yikes!! Also who would want to find a potential partner in those kinds of conditions? Gross
Has it always been like this or is this generation just alot worse than previous ones?
