hire and train an army of Somali linguists to literally translate every single loan word to Somali and invent new authentic words and teach it to all kids.

It makes me sad that the possibility of this happening in my lifetime is slim.

Why, what the Arab influence has to do with becoming a metropolis?
Okay three questions.
1. Is this really the best use of funds by the Somali government?
2. How will schools/parliament operate if the language changes overnight? Changing textbooks, having to teach people the modified language will take time, how can schools and parliament operate.
3. There are more Somalis outside Somalia than inside Somalia, the language spoken by Somalis outside Somalia will become unrecognisable to those who live in Somalia.

Islam itself is influenced by Arab culture and traditions. Look how many Somalis wear tents and have Arabic names. Somalis even claim theyโve mixed with the Arabs, so they can get closer to them.
1: The Arab world will always influence Somalia. The Somali language has arabic in it. Somalis are 90% muslim and half of us have arabic names.
Somalia isn't the only non arab country that is heavily influenced by arab culture, there is also Turkey, Pakistan etc...
Somalia is also influenced by the West (democracy, the idea of a modern nation state, constitution, architecture), and more precisely Italy and the UK. We are more influenced by the West than arab countries.
Every country is influenced by something, and it's hugely linked to a country's history or geography. Somalia is close to arab countries and it is a muslim country, so it's only natural for Somalia to be influenced by arab culture.
So arab influence will remain in Somalia for a few centuries.

3:Somalia will suffer from corruption for a loooong time (many decades if not a century), just like most of Africa.
Your average somali has a clan mindset. His clan is more important than his own nation.
A nation is an idea, and if people do not believe in this idea then it cannot function. Your average somali think that the land he lives in belong to his clan and not to his government.
As long as it remains the same, their will always be corruption. I personally believe that we cannot get rid of it before the 22nd century.
4:Qabiil has been present in Somalia waaay before Islam. Even Islam couldn't stop qabiil. So it will most likely remain. It will take years of brainwashing to stop people from thinking about qabiil all the time, so you can forget about that.

Backwards, woman hating culture and the promotion of extremism. Trusting Arabs who fund shabaab to make sure you don't compete with them in the oil and trade market. Remember how al shabaab started pushing for the replacement of the Somali language for Arabic, to "Arabize" the society? That alone is very telling

The government must give protection for uluma who will counter the ideas of al shabab.
Even in peaceful places like PL, the ulema are not as hardened against AS.
If you go to jumuah in PL, most of the khutbah will be about salah or zakah or sawm.
Many imams deliberately do not want to get into the debate.

Somalia need only one man with good vision and support from Allah to save us
1 He must have Somali nationalism and islam in both of his hands.
2 he must not be qabili but still use it if necessary
3 he must have straight and clear goal who he is ready to sacrifice his time money and life to achieve it.
4 he must have charisma and skill of debate and strong personality.
5 and most importantly he must be a person who can't get influenced by foreign powers.
