If Somaliland joins Somalia will there be a new flag and a new name?

Somaliland never left Somalia to begin with. 30+ years of gimmicks has really messed up these people's minds.
I think Somali Republic sounds better, I dont like that a in Somalia the whole word gives me a bad vibe

I find it so odd. I don't think they even speak to people from SCC. Everyone I knew were so happy to be free of SL especially because they had innocent family members killed by them. Wallahi I don't wanna dox myself but the stuff they did to these innocent people left a bitter after taste in my mouth. Innocent family members jailed and denied human rights. And its been happening since I was a kid. Wallahi Allah is most merciful and will bring justice in the next life.
Why should it matter? By accepting to be under Somalia's sovereignty you're basically admitting to be one of those pointed stars in their flag. Changing the flag or lack thereof won't do anything to change that fact before or after this so called union.
Personally I don't mind having a referendum in Awdal in exchange for formal recognition. I hope they remain a part Somaliland due to the beautiful mountainous terrain, lush greenery, mild weather, borders with Djibouti and Zaylac historical significance. They are also heavily intermarried with HA, generally well behaved and don't cause disturbance. They were the real "swing state" in the the last elections but alas they either choose Somaliland were they will have more of a say, or remain with Somalia and compete with 50 other sub clans of similar size.
My only problem with Awdal is in the case they vote to remain with Somalia they'll constitute a strategic threat to Somaliland due to their proximity to Hargeisa. They'll be like Kaliningrad Oblast in Europe, a dagger in the heart of Somaliland too close to home. A Somalia enclave blocking our access to Djibouti will greatly diminish any influence we could project on Djibouti in the future and open the door for similar influence by Somalia. However for the sake of ending this chapter and gaining international recognition I'll be willing to flip the coin. If next president Trump does not recognize Somaliland, only way remains is a referendum. I doubt HSM or any president after will agree to such arrangement unless pushed by foreign power.

Hargeisa the Capital is just too close to Awdal to be torn apart. Impossible to have two different countries (Somaliland and Somalia) with such close distance to the capital. Too much security threats from air, land, and sea to the capital Hargeisa. Impossible to seperate Awdal from Hargeisa unless Hargeisa becomes regional capital state to Isaaq than nation capital of Somaliland.
Borama is 100 KM to Hargeisa, if Somalia turned Awdal into a heavily fortified military outpost like Kaliningrad we'll always be under threat. It's like South Korea having their capital Seoul so close to the border with North Korea who already have nukes.

Nah Somalia sounds proper biased it's not a good name and I doubt that name will exist if Somaliland ever united with Somalia. Samale sound better

They shouldn't go through Somaliland route and become a successionist. I even think is not a good idea amymore for Somaliland, that's if Trump don't recognise us at all. I wish we had a clear leader that ended qabil and looked towards Somaliweyn. We need a plan b.

Loved it or notAlthough I will always advocate for an independent Somaliland but let's just say that fails for many years and Somaliland decides to rejoin Somalia would there be a name change? do you think it would be renamed to Somali Republic or Samale? how would it work the reunification? I would also assume the flag to change aswell to something everyone agrees. I wonder this. I will be honest the chances of Somaliland gaining independence is sadly slim I wish but ssc kinda walked away from us and i doubt cirro will take ssc back since they fought for themselves.

It already unites Somalis, except anti Somali unity folks. These ones literally against the Somaliweyne idea altogether. So there is not point in reasoning with them
