I’d be in a beautiful house near the beach in moqdisho. Unfortunately some randoms took it by force and my family still can’t get the house back 😭
My father owns a few houses in Xamar too. We have all of them except for one. This Murusade guy sold his house to us, but after we fled Xamar, the tuug sold it again to another person. Inshallah, I will deal with that one myself. But Xamar has many houses whose people have fled. It’s like the situation in Dir Dhaba after the war. Many Somalis fled to Djibouti and Somalia, so the Oromo took many houses.

Considering how my dad's side was heavily involved in politics and my mother's family owned several businesses and restaurants, I would probably have grown up upper middle class. I like to think I would have gone to school to become a Somali musician and singer-songwriter. Imagine me being the Beyoncé of Somaliweyn, holding concerts in Muqdisho, Hargeisa, Djibouti, and Garissa with my Somali Jay-Z, Maxamed Osman BK.
