I'm a political commentator for print outlets in Somaliland, I'm based in Erigavo. Ask me anything about Somaliland politics

Welcome. What do you think of the upcoming elections in 2017? Will they be fair or
typical African elections filled with fraud.

I had an interesting question to the wadani thread you posted.

My question would of been it's frowned upon to talk about beelaha in public when political figures are around. Does this not make one feel disengenious knowing that in private beel this iyo beeshas that is spoken of? How qabilist is cirro behind the scenes

The current political climate in Somaliland indicates that the election would take place accordingly. Somaliland is a beacon of democracy for Africa, it is not like other African failed stated. thought Somaliland has not been recognized, it is mature in terms of democratic principles. The elections have been delayed for some reasons, but now the outlook is positive

Welcome !

I don't know much about Somaliland Politics but my family lives in Erigavo

Why are the Isaaq deporting the South Somalis ?
Do you think that Somaliland will get the recognition through legal means ?
Do you Support an independence war i.e Somalia vs S/land?

In Somaliland, Wadani is party for all Somalilanders, however, the current democratization process is moving from clan based system to full fledged democratic system so it would take sometime to leave behind the notion of clan-ship.

Has political and armed turmoil throughout Silanyo's term dealt a blow to Somaliland's claim of stability and will this affect international recognition bid?

To correct you, Isaaq ain't deporting anyone, it's a clan that want other tribes with coexistence and hasn't whatsoever objection to that. it the government of Somaliland that pronounced the deportation which is the last resort if those people from south doesn't register.
your second question. I strongly believe that Somalilad will be recognized in a legal way, there's a road map for it, and so far the foreign policy strategy worked well. we made a lot of friends. I don't know if you have ever heard the heated debate about somaliland recognition in EU Parliament.
I do support it the majority of Somalilanders do.

Walaal what is your view on Ethiopia? Do you think they affect us negatively or positively?
In my perspective, Ethiopia and Somaliland share mutual interest; economical, security and geopolitical one. so therefore, Somaliland and Ethiopia got a bridge that connects. Somaliland choose a peaceful neighbor than a hostile one.

I am very close to the Wadani establishment. So I must ask sir! Are you allowed to be repping Abdiraam Ciro?

Who endowed you with this title ( spokesperson ).

I am very closely related to the Wadani chairman in North America.

Silanyo's term has not been turmoil one, however, we have experienced some conflicts that involved armed confrontation in Sool region. Somaliland is not and will not accept anyone who is violating it's independence and this will make clear that the sovereignty of this country has been protected which can support the pursuit of nationhood.

I'm a political commentator, at the meantime I do represent them in one specific areas. However, to know who is in the party and what mandate they do have, you had better communicate with the party. and if you're close them, the good of you

Somaliland's territorial integrity has been violated since its existence. I mean Sool and Sanaag are permeable borders, if there even are borders at this point. What makes a legal case for Somaliland stronger than a political one?
