Somalia just needs time and we will be fine, we don't have to emulate everything the west does, we just need to grow in our own space. :)

To each his own, I guess. I honestly love the place compared to a more "first world" environment here in the UAE where the standard of living is honestly superior to anywhere in the west if you are at least Middle-Class or above. If you have some decent money in Somalia, life there is pretty neat. My own family owns a large estate on the beach with some grazing lands nearby and lots of livestock and comforts like stable electricity, running water and good sewage. That life always felt superior to the UAE whenever I went back there. Far less artificial. I'd wake up every morning and run out to the beach and swim, swim for hours then come home and play around with the livestock and local cats with my cousins or with the crabs on the shore or fish with one of my uncles and still be able to go inside and watch some satellite TV if I wanted and there were nearby mountains and natural hotsprings and the town we lived near had plenty of all the modern junk food and whatnot at its grocery stores if that was your fancy and of course; good and fresh organic food was always available. Fresh, grass-fed raw milk, prime quality meat, eggs, seafood, fruits right from the garden... a gorgeous, fully starry night-sky due to low light pollution. Felt like how life ought to be unlike all this shopping mall, night-club, city streets modern bullshit. But again, to each his own.

I leave this dusty place in 1 month. My advice to everyone is if you want to see Somali culture go to London or Minnesota not Africa.
Are you one of those diaspora somalis that get frightened by house flies :mjlol:

I love it here, the Athan, the atmosphere, the food, the women, the cost of living. I ain't leaving :banderas:

This guy must be pretty new to the west, it's always the unevolved, lazy, junk loving ones who can't cope with life outside those comforts. Most of my educated well versed cadaan colleagues all dream of the life your describing. Growing your own veg, tending to your livestock, owning your own land these things are liberating and is what true happiness is all about. Unless your super wealthy in the west it's difficult to have any of that.

I dream of living in Somalia somewhere further from the main town and just enjoying the simple things in life.

Yup, Somalia will be a shithole for at least another century. I might visit when we reach Pakistan level , but I am now a westerner.
That doesn't change a thing & nor will your ideological beliefs, you've got a Pakistani in the video below (skip to 2:51) saying it how it is (they were born out of wanting to be an Islamic nation yet many immigrate to the UK if the 🚪 were open).
