Implications of Kenya border wall

I just realised that if Kenya is successful in building a border wall with Somalia, we'll not have Safari parks. None of the animals will be able to come back to Somalia. Al Shabaab aren't just destroying our present, they're destroying our future. Safari holidays bring Kenya billions a year. In fact most of it's GDP comes from tourism and not just package holidays but it brings tourist dollars to it's markets and eateries. It's just sad that we're losing out on so much.

Sxb let Kenya have the wildlife. it is the biggest thing they can offer to the world and their biggest livelyhood. No one knows Kenya for anything else! maybe runners and Maasai but that's it!! Wildlife puts them on the maps.

Somalia has oil, a small managable population and a very strategic locational advantage over Kenya. It's gonna succeed without wildlife. A stable would prosper like a mofo. Just look at Puntland. If they recorded their GDP/capita I'm sure it would blow not just Kenya but most African countries out of the water. and they didn't even need their oil to succeed!!

I'm sure Puntland is wealthy but Somalia doesn't produce $30 billion just yet. For all our advantages we're underperforming, we need to get our act together.

political stability is all we need!!

Bosaso was basically non existent 20 years ago but has now turned into a huge city pushing to a 1 million population and the busiest port in Somalia! .... I think being one of the safer and more stable regions had something/everything to do with this. Not just Bosaso but every non war ridden city in Somalia and Somaliland. Mogadishu. about 5 years of some form of peace and stability and just look at where it is right now. Look at Somali cities outside Somalia. Djibouti and Garissa are doing really well !

political stability is a must
