I searched the Socotra location on Instagram.
Tell me that this local does not look Somali!!
From this alone I conclude that Socotrans are Somali (or atleast mixed w/ Somali) and therefore it is our land which we need to colonise ASAP.
We should be like China and have a Nine Dash line. China claims every Island that falls within the dash based on some fake ass history but they are strong and end up getting control eventually.

The people are Southern Semites, but we should open a case about it. The UAE are trying to annex Socotra Islands, and at the same time are also trying to cause a civil war in Somalia. We should annex the island ourselves and invite the Iranians to block the Gulf Arabs from the Indian Ocean. That way, we can threaten the UAE to get out of our affairs.

They left the area between Yemen and Oman around 2000 BC. They have very old J* (not J1 like mainland Yemen) and R0a markers. They are not Cushitic.
