Blaming Somalis won't save SL a false democracy unless u can argue what is different about yours and Iran who also votes? If u want to be a democracy and do it best at least when u do copy n paste it do it properly not fraudulently or degrading the democratic global standard.
SL isn't even founded on an Idea like USA and West, but is founded on an a clan identity(majority of the world is one form or the other identity politics) and then uses Iran style voting calling itself a democracy only a small fraction of a proper democracy.
Voting and Elections is only small part in a true democracy. Where is your freedom in SL around unfiltered exchange of idea including negativity on SL? Freedom of peaceful protests, media(including hateful.media).
Where is your equality for all clans, genders, religion, sexuality, clans and political thought including unionism? or any social identity?
Where is your rule of law excellence and predictability and stability(running around ppl mountains in terror outfits disturbing others won't save u). Forget good governance and anti corruption, it's a banana republic.

By trying to compare Somaliland to Iran you already discredited yourself but you always play fast and loose with the truth to score some slam dunk on Somaliland.
Iran is under the supreme ruler since 1989, who is Somaliland's supreme ruler?
Anyway. Somaliland is in a state of war (which is of the ideological, economic and military kind) and there must be stricter conditions in a state of war. The failed state attacks on all fronts sending unionists paid for by the foreign money slush fund they have hustled (in our name).
Any country being attacked by a foreign country intent on trying to annex their territory would behave the same. You can be negative about how Somaliland is governed but not take it to the point to suggest Somaliland's sovereignty should be given up to a clearly failed state or any other state.
The failed state manages to create a false perception about its legitmacy and prospects and that can be very misleading those who are not informed. This fiction is pushed by the international community too which makes it more believable.
Anyway the failed state is close to collapse now so we won't have to worry about unionism much longer.
In terms of equality there is equality for all clans, no one gets two votes based on their clan. If you can bring votes you get representation it's that simple. If you have a problem with that you have a problem with democracy and want to create a clan system like 4.5 which is not gonna happen.

Democratic index exist ur not even worthy of grading and if it were u wouldn't even be able to reach a flawed democracy standard as the other democratic flawed countries will argue how da f*ck can we be listed in the same category as SL and they win due to majority vs minority.
The only way SL can even be listed there would be to create a unique category as dysfunctional democracy and everything a democracy isn't. Just do something properly or don't do at all Is my advice to ur ppl.
Somaliland is not ranked and a few other small countries (UN member states) are not ranked too I don't know why.
The Democacy index actually describes other democracy indicies too such as the Freedom House index, which it calls the best known measure of democracy. Here's the quote from 2023 Democracy index:

Somaliland is doing alright. You will notice that Somalia is not a free country and that is to be expected.
Somaliland is the real deal and you guys just have to accept it. There's no easy dismissal of the hard work and sacrifice of the people of Somaliland. What is an isaaq democracy? One in which only isaaq get to vote? Everyone gets to vote.
One in which only isaaq come out as president? Already there has been non-Isaaq president of Somaliland.
There's no such thing as Isaaq democracy that's just something you made up.
Now you can't argue about Freedom House so you are just waffling to yourself. They measure both civil freedoms and whether a country is an electoral democracy and under their system somalialnd is partly free.
You are in a not free country and you are arguing about Somaliland instead of working on yourself first. What does that tell you or the world about Puntland/Somalia. Whatever that system even is.
