Inside the postcode war ripping south London apart as Kelyan Bokassa, 14, fatally stabbed on a bus

Around an hour before he was killed, the Kelyan posted a haunting message on Instagram asking any of his followers if they had a 'mindi' – the Somali word for knife.

Ciyaal suuqs need to stop teaching youths these words in Somali. Sad story nonetheless. Kid was going to kill or get killed such is the way of the street life. I am not sure about aspiring drill rapper stuff.

I don't like how Somali words have been adopted by UK drill rappers.

EDIT: It seems like this kid was from the Barnfield Estate in Woolwich, which is where the Woolwich Somali gang was primarily based 15 - 20 years ago. This probably explains how he learned these words.

I was in Woolwich a few months ago for business. Some areas looked liked burkina faso roast meat market. English town centres have been destroyed by Americanisation and low tier/unclean shops opened by ajanabis trying to recreate their country in England.

Yep it's gone mental, this child's last post on Instagram was asking for knives. He used the Somali word "Mindi", writing it as Mindy's.

Naturally since people like this child use Somali words, people then begin to make baseless assumptions about Somali culture upon reacting to this.

Yeah, it's mostly Nigerians now, but many years ago Woolwich had a large Somali population.

how can you be socially if you have siblings, i have four brothers they can entertain themselves and they do go to their cousins for skeepover
Not enough. They need to learn to fend for themselves and be street smart. Only way to do that is to regularly interact with a wide variety of people and try to understand their motivations and behavior.
