It's not haram. I've read that as long as the meaning of the name isn't something bad then you can name your child that

Why would you though? Is it so that you and your child can be accepted by the general cadaan population?
Do you think when they go live in the Arabs or any other country the westerners change their names to blend in with the population? No they don't, because they don't have an inferiority complex.
