Wouldn't be surprised if it was but was it?

Even if we were that west (which we arent) i would expect it to be closer to the north given those more rocky terrain is where the noble macrobians came from, that regions like farmland or something

I heard in medieval horn we used to border the Amhara so could be true but I doubt we had southern lakes/ rivers bordering lake Rudolf, if we did Oromo expansion really fucked us

This is a more accurate map (Slightly inaccurate I think cause I am sure we also occupied the awash river which is mostly in modern day afar region), the regions highlighted in red are the lands we lost compared to what somalis have now in modern times. I hope someone makes a map of our gradual land loss over the years.

So I'm curious-all the blue land just south of Somali Galbeed is that Oromo lands?

I dont thing it was that large. But somali galbeed is still a huge region. One of the reasons that I want to take back somali galbeed is that it has a pouplation of about 15 million + people. If we took it back our pouplation would be about 35 million + .

It also coincidentally made me realize that the maxaa tiri dislect is actually about 90% of all somali speakers.

The Futuh basically describes "Somalis" (Somali Bedouins/Pastoralists) in Bale and actually being in control of it so we were indeed more west at one point and "Hararghe" definitely seems like Somali territory based on our recent thread discussions and all the docus and archaeology everyone's dug up.

I'm skeptical we were ever that southwestward (around the lakes), though. Don't really see the evidence for that but open to being surprised.

Exaggerated map, Somalis defintely weren't living that far southwest. If we had to expand the definition of galbeed it would include Hararghe+Bale. Jury is still out over whether or not Somalis used to lived in eastern Shewa in significant numbers however but Hararghe and Bale were very much former Somali territory.

cause I am sure we also occupied the awash river
We did. According to descriptions, it was originally called the Dir river

if Somalis abandoned Tribal Affiliations and instead operated in Uniformity and turned their situation around could they regain the awash river?
Too late for that, Somalis should just focus on whats left of galbeed and try salvaging that, Maybe in the distant future if somalis get things together then we could attempt the great liberation lol 😂
