Is Puntland north or south?

How so? What's the cultural difference between Kismayo and Bossaso?
First of all You can't use south as everything below Galkacyo, it just wouldn't be right. There are many different subcultures in the South.

Let's just make it simple and say MJ culture is different from Hawiye culture. For example, back in the day in PL you wouldn't be able to marry your 2nd/3rd cousin or you'd have to pay a fine. It's part of our xeer system. Dude there's so much more things you don't know. Unfortunately, we're both ignorant.

I can only speak koonfur Somali but that's because both my parents were born in the koonfur despite being Darod. When I went to Bari they had different words for certain things.

There was the word I was looking for, 'subculture'. Different qabiils, genders, age groups, regions or any variable can carry along them a subculture, but a subculte is still under the main Somali culture, which is the same in all Somali regions, for the time being.

That`s pretty dumb to be honest. I`d let any qabiil marry my daughter as long as he is noble

It was used as a bridge to bring the different communities together. Harder to fight each other over resources when everyone's related. For that reason all my grandmothers are from different sub clans.

Neither, Puntland is Bari, like how DDSI is Galbeed. Koonfur is not really well defined because you have Daroods in Jubaland who speak with a Galbeed or Mudug accent even after a century. What matters more in terms of cultural norms is what qabil you are from, rather than where you are from.
