Is Somalia still participating in the World Cup qualifications?

Where do you get your sources from 😭🙏

A twitter user posted that screen i shared but it's taken from this book : Area Handbook For Somalia https://www.google.co.uk/books/edit...ulle+wasuge+gold&pg=PA111&printsec=frontcover

And only in 3-4 years time they made rapid progress
What is more , Somalia started producing champions in such a remarkably short time

I only show this to prove what good institutional investment and support will do for Somalis.

Somalia is in World Cup qualifiers but we’re in last place with 4 losses out of 4. We play another 6 games next year as long as we win one of them I’m good.

Football federation is trash in Somalia because it’s so politicized. The SFF has no power beyond xamar, and 11 of the 12 teams in the Somali Premier League play there. Every state has their own league, PL run their own separate sports committees independent of SFF which just harms their players as they don’t receive the funding or exposure of the Xamar players.

I also just think we’re not very good at football. Cut the bs genetics out, we don’t have a real footballing culture, the kids back home are obsessed with kubad but they just love the players. Al Nassr shirts are going platinum over there for a reason.

Football is a very tough sport in Africa because it’s so competitive everyone plays it, we have an OK diaspora, we have an incompetent broke federation, we have mid local players, we can’t even play back home. It’s going to be very tough to compete in Africa with all of that.

I would prefer if we focused on athletics and basketball. Basketball is not competitive in Africa, all we need is a competent federation and we can go to AfroBasket. Focus on getting the best diaspora players first and then try and build locally

Somalia u17 are doing pretty well eveb qualified for afcon and beated Sudan. And these are locals. We just need a committee that isn't tied to politics and aren't corrupt. Somalia should make it mandatory for somali boys and men to hit the gym so they can be healthy in general and for sport such as football. The somali youth also need good nutritional diet. Ethnic somali males do have what it takes if our country took the sport seriously. Don't say we don't have the genetics that's bullshit

Yep but we have to remember that was mostly a golden generation. Lots of those players despite being young are already playing senior football. Some even have interest from abroad.

I think I said it before but I’m not too upset about the SFF scouting pool. They don’t look outside the Shabeelles. But historically those areas have always been where our best players came from. Imagine how much better we would be if we were able to scout all the way up to Saylac though.

In 2022 it was only six out of 10 teams and this years tournament will be the same. But instead of Burundi and Ethiopia it’s Kenya and Sudan, which are better teams. This talent pool isn’t great I’ve heard but we brought some kids from Sweden hopefully they can give us a boost. The diaspora U17 generation is insane though probably the best we’ve ever had.

I have hope for the u17 and the new upcoming generation. Call me crazy but I genuinely believe we can make it to the world cup and even win.

@Sigmundd Somalia U15 played 2 games today against Uganda and Tanzania

Worst part about being in East Africa is the sheer size of some of these countries. Uganda 50m Tanzania 60m Kenya 50m Ethiopia 125m whilst we are only 18m. We need to get those numbers up ASAP

we should invest heavily with sports development within the Madowwyne tribe. after all they are the much better than the lanky lamagodle at soccer. ethnic somalis need to focus on basketball and i have theory we might be good for martial arts such as mma and boxing due to our long limbs and good cardio. we would also be able to fight against dudes much shorter than us since we are slimmer. only thing im questioning is if wether we would be able to take a hit to the head. cant do nothing with a glass jaw in martial arts

All you somalis that consider us inferior at sports because of genetics need to just kill yourselves.

East African football is doo doo. Every country is objectively bad at football, some worse than others. Im picking the trash country with 50m over the trash country with 19m any day
