There have in fact been little information coming out there. But from social media, I've seen those Somalis who normally tend be pro-Oromia, mention and report it.

Here's a local person being interviewed

@GaradShabeel what u think as u from those areas, are oromo that strong there

Hararghe is probably Oromos stronghold in eastern Oromia. Unlike my region, this appears to have happened in Baabili, Oromia.

Oromos are heavily armed, and whenever there are conflicts, Oromo militias usually cross the border from there into our region, and engage in fightings.

So far from different sources, they've said that 'Fadna' militias have been present in Baabile. They also get themselves involved in our areas, so it appears to be the same forces. But I fully can't confirm it yet.

This is happening inside oromia to oromo speaking somalis. Wither your inside or outside oromia wither you speak afaan oromo or don't nothing changes and attackes/raids keep happinings.

The Usual SomaliDiid suspects with Waqooyi accents are denying these atrocities taking place. What happened to “Irir Samaale”. Those who Celebrate dismantling of Somali forces because of Ogaden hate will be in shock when they find out that the foreigners do not care what Clan you are or if you are Laandheere.

Clashes are said to have happened in the three woredas of Babili, Fadhis, Miidhaa. I can't find a map with the districts, but I've drawn them in the map below.

Dhandhame is the capital of Baabili in the Somali State it is not part of Oromia or Oromo speaking.

But you are right it does not make a difference they are trying to annex Somali territory with Ethiopian state backing.

Large swaths of the Babili district is included in the Oromia region when you look at the official map of the country.

It seems like the same phenomenon is apparent alongside all of our borders with Oromia. I've yet to understand how it even happened :mindblown:

i think it was the 1993 federalization of ethiopia. if oromos controlled those territories at that specific time it was probably made into oromia.

But a referendum took place in 2004 in *all* districts on the border with Oromia (420 kebeles). And the map have been updated since.

Before the referendum, the Somali state controlled practically all of these areas. After the referendum, not only those districts that chose Oromia; but *most* of the border regions was included into Oromia. At least on maps. Even though they barely control those areas (who was meant to remain in DDS).

For example, Baabili in its entirety is on the Oromo side, when only part of it was supposed to be included there. The same applies from Jinacsani, all the way to the southern border.

These Oromos are shaydaamad. This is why I don't believe when people act like their miskeen people, they only know violence and expansionism. Funnily enough, they never have the same energy for Amharas and the majority of them kiss their asses. And now they want to include our lands in their country. I liked it better when Amharas beat those ogres into submission.
