Is there a reason why my genetic distances to ancient samples are so far? (illustrativeDNA)

Oh yeah, I should have clarified, sorry. I’m South Sudanese, Acholi specifically. And see, this is why I’m so lost lol. My closest sample is a distance of 14.5~, whilst yours is 5~. So much closer, do you have any theories about why mine are so distant to me? I would have expected those first few ones to be way closer, hell, even the Nilotic. Which, ironically, is slightly closer to you than it even is to me lol. Like wth haha.
Thanks for the clarification, it's really interesting that your closest distance is around 14.5. For me whats even more interesting is that your Nilotic, East African late stone forager, East African Bantu, central African bantu, South African bantu and west African bantu all have almost the same distance which is between 14.5 ~ to 21 ~. I am not expert to why this could happen but I have my own theories. It could be one of these two reasons

1. You don't have a close match to any of the ancient groups as your proximity shows a 14.5 ~ at best. Acholi could be a mix of ancient sample. I heard Acholi people live in 3 borders, South Sudan, Northern Uganda and West Kenya near lake Turkana. Its location is a good proximity for East, West, central and southern sub saharan Africans.

Or

2. Acholi are not tested enough in the genetic database and they might have their unique signature that is different from their near by ethinic groups.

I could be wrong but I know a person on this forum who could have the answers. @Nilotic could you correct me and do you know where Acholi fall in the Nilotic family group? are they similar to Nilo Saharan genetic wise say like Zaghawa?

Now, I could be entirely misunderstanding how this all works, but I swear with so many other results I see people have distances in the 3-4 range, for their very closest ancient samples (although many of the results I've seen are European/Anglo/White of some kind, so maybe there's some correlation there). But yeah, I'm wondering what gives? Could it just be because they have more samples or something? I have zero speculation to even put forward.

Are your closest ancient samples about as distant as mine? For the closest sample on my list to be at 14.5~ meanwhile some people's closest are almost 4 times less than that is stunning lmao. There's probably all sorts of reasons why, but I'm totally ignorant. Any ideas would be great!

Sorry if this is a stupid question also btw. Thanks!
Did you put in your scaled coordinates? That should be more accurate

I did mine and I cluster extremely closely with Cushitic pastoralists, I got 90% percent Cushitic elmentetian pastoralist and 7.2 sub Saharan of which 7% was Nilo Saharan, and the remaining three percent was Arabian peninsula related
