He makes 50m a year plus bonuses and other commercial contracts. Half a mil is not that much esp. for raising 3 kids. Most judges base alimony on income, family size, lifestyle, neighbourhood etc. Marital status does not factor into judge's decision except in inheritance. More than reasonable.

You should pay for child support even if you are not married. If it's your kid, you pay for life. 55k per month however is fucking insane. I will never understand these NBA stars, how do you always end up with three kids while unmarried?

The courts believe since he's rich the kids so deserve a rich lifestyle.


Being away from home is the main reason why he has a huge child support bill. Court judges automatically assume active players would be terrible parents if they obtained full custody. If he retired he could definitely obtain a cheaper child support payment. He could probably even fight for full custody and get rid of the payment.
