The African American community has 2 huge problems.

1) the people with the most social status in the black community are not the rich people or the elites. But people from the hood who are about that life.

2) there is no real black upper class to guide the black community. A lot of these very successful black people outside certain black upper middle class Hotspots like the Maryland/DC area . End up marrying white people. So you don't have a large class of black elites to mobilize. Look what happned to the black elites that lived in the north before poorer african Americans started migrating north for jobs in places like California they completely disappeared.
